Poor KK. He sucks at chosing females,Ha.
I hate it when guys pay for me. Or when anything pays anything for me. I won't even let my mother buy me food. I will pay her back or pay for it myself. And if I go somewhere with a cousin, I hate when she pays for me. I feel awkward and, well, mean. I actually like paying for myself. It gives me a sense that I can do something for myself. But it is drilled into a male's head that they are supposed to be gentleman and pay for their dates. I think it should always be split or they girl and guy pay for dates alternatively.
Times are changing.
Why is it the guys job to pay?

This is how I see it;
Plan as a group, pay as a group.
I dunno what to think of the rest of it.

As do I, my friend! However, my view on equality might differ from yours. I'm all for women to have the same rights and opportunities that we men have, and I am all for raising the womens pay to equal that of men, among many other things. However, I'm also all for celebrating our differences as well as our similarities. I am not nor will I ever push the idea of an androgynous society where no one separates between men and women - that, I fear, would be political correctness gone wrong.
And whilst we're on the subject of equality, I would like to point out that I do not believe we are all equal. Some are intelligent, some aren't; some are skinny, some are fat; some are short, some are tall: it brings a much needed balance to this world. I firmly believe we should be judged upon our merits. However, that could simply be because I don't wish to be thought of as an equal compared to someone inadequate. But that does in no way mean I don't think that we should all be given the same rights.
I will keep holding doors open to women, offer to pay for their meals and go that extra mile for them; it's just the right thing to do, for me. Whether they appreciate it or discard it as insulting and degrading is irrelevant to me and will have no impact on my future actions.

I feel guilty if I don't pay at least part. Often I end up paying in full.
Maybe I don't want to be expected to repay it in other ways like KK mentioned.

I pay for the big things
We split for the little things
As in I will pay for dinner
But if we're just getting a drink in a fast food place we would get our own

@Squire [to avoid big quote pyramids]:
While I understand that you should definitely hold doors open for women/people [for politeness or chivalry reasons and because you get what you give] I don't understand how such behaviour should extend to paying for their meals etc. While women do tend to earn less than men, rare is the woman who can't afford a meal or a drink.
I'm not saying you should never offer to pay, and I'm not disregarding your argument..I just like a good debate
and wanna see from your point of view

That last paragraph was unnecessary: what are we to do if not hold debates and hear out "the other side" on a message-board? People shouldn't have to put up such disclaimers in fear of having offended someone.
When I hold a door open to any woman I expect nothing in return: not a smile; not a thank you; not a door open for me. I feel that holding a door open for someone simply because you expect to get something in return is the opposite of chivalry. To me, chivalry is unconditional. Just as I would hold a door open to someone close to my heart, I would do the same to someone I dislike. Again, it's simply because I think it's the right thing to do. Don't get me wrong, though - I don't always hold up a door. There are times when I don't think about it, or when I'm in a rush which results in me not holding a door open.
When it comes to paying for someone's meal, the fact whether they can afford to pay it themselves is irrelevant. Even when they clearly have more money to burn than I do, it's irrelevant. It's just a nice gesture, and I have no problem spending a little (because that is what it amounts to, in the end) money on people I care about.

Typically I hang out with a bunch of friends, most of them guys, and we usually just crash at somebody's house and rob the pantry.
I think the guy and girl should split it 50/50 or one person pays for tonight's date and the other pays for tomorrows date. or one covers movie, one covers dinner.
some kinda arrangement.
