It's sorta soft rock and it's kinda funny. I'm not really sure how to describe it.

Please don't bite my head off if you don't consider it Emo *shudders* but HIM is my fave Emo band... I also like My Chemical Romance, even though they don't consider themselves to be Emo a lot of people do...

Haha. None of the bands mentioned in this thread, except for the ones I first mentioned, are emo. Though you could say Bug was the relatively close with Husker Du.

Yeah, I know they're not exactly emo, but they had a lot of influence on the original genre. I prefer them over most actual emo bands, and they are definitely related to the genre.

i liked them bcoz of their songs ..

specially their song "Discovering The Waterfront" ..
its a sad song for those who are really </3 ..

simple plan is not punk, maybe pop/punk.
bullet for my valentine is screamo if anything (or at least from what i have heard)
and im with bug, Husker Du may not be emo but i think they are the closest thing to emo that i like.
