Water and Caffeine

Never have I felt so bitter,
About the static in the air in the middle of winter,
I guess it's what happens when you leave,
When you leave and set all of your optimism free,
The freckles on your neck are so vague,
That's alright, though, my bones are opaque,

If you don't mind I'm going to tear some buildings down,
Until my shoebox with the pictures of you is found,
Don't worry, darling, my body's water and caffeine,
The beauty is stronger than it may seem,
There's a few stains on your right arm,
That's alright, though, I don't cause that kind of harm,

There will come a day when someone'll listen,
Until our shadows lengthen in the purple sun,
And the churning windmills have been long gone,
And the love in the sky have been long drawn,
You've got holes in your aching ego now,
That's alright, though, I don't need to know how,

I think your hunger is whittling away,
At what little brain that sadly stayed,
Does this mean that I can kiss your shoulder,
Before you stumble on your way back to hold her?
Then here I'll wait again counting the tiles in a ceiling,
That's alright, though, I love this feeling.

another poem i wrote. it took a long time to write it for some reason.
"the worst is over, you can have the best of me."

i'm a helpless romantic.

Good poem. I like how fluent it is.
