pardon my french, but that's bullshit.

anything that goes "you can watch x number of films but if you haven't watched this classic, you're not a fan lol" is such a horrible assumption. nosferatu is considered a classic, and despite being a b-movie, i generally agree with it, but you don't need to watch the film in order to appreciate vampire films in general. that's the good thing with movies - each picture makes a world unto itself, and there is no canon that each adds to. so watching a lot of vampire films makes you a fan, because you like them, not because you watched all the classics.
