i wrote a topic before but nobody took it serius .
of course emo is a genre of music but its called emo core and not just ,,emo,,
just like punk rock is called punk . and what do u mean by scene ??? i mean are u from the punk scene ???
the goth scene ??? or the hip hop scene ( if that even exists) .
so there fore YES u can be emo .
just like u can be punk .
just like u can be a goth .
emo core is the music.

Words mean different things now, ad more than one thing.
I.E-gay=homosexual, happy, and something that someone dislikes/thinks is stupid.
Emo-the music, the type of people that dress dark, but not Goth.

I think your a little confused. If you think your emo, as in the fringe and all that shit your a term called fashioncore aka scene. Emo was Emotitive Hardcore a genre of good music that is now dead. You cannot be emo. Damn I hate Jimmy Eat World for spawning this.
