1. You can't STOP being Bulimic/Anorexic/Binge, any of it. You can't just stop. It is a disease. One that you have all your lives. This disease has to be clinically diagnosed. Some of you may have problems eating, but don't go saying you are Bulemic/Anorexic/Binge until you are DIAGNOSED by a doctor.

2. "I used to be Anorexic." No, you didn't. You either had a minor disorder that was undiagnosed, or you were diagnosed and you STILL HAVE ANOREXIA.

3. "You can just stop being Anorexic." Once again, no you can't. It is a disease that never goes away. Once you are diagnosed with it, it doesn't go away. There is no cure, you are at risk of doing it again ALL YOUR LIFE!

Please, know the facts before you start saying, "I used to be Anorexic." Do some research, look some stuff up, GO TO A DOCTOR IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE PROBLEMS!

You get an A++++ for this!!!! You can't stop really, i still relapse all the time.

You know.. It's not very fair.. This is just for Anorexics and bulimics. What about the binge eaters? The ones that don't purge after?

That's an eating disorder too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binge_eating_disorder
Check it out. It's just as bad..
I mean.. Someone should clearly address this as well.
I don't feel like trying to start a thread about it though. I'm sure many people here probably don't deal with it.. but still..

i agree with this... but it is hard to stop, and some ppl dont want to

but some ppl have to understand that: not all people that are really skinny are anorexic or bulimic.

one of my best friends weighs under 100 lbs, she weighs in the 80s i think and she is about 5'2"... YES she is under weight, but NO she is not anorexic or bulimic... she has a super high motabolizm, i kno shes not anorexic cause she eats more then me (and i have to say, i eat alot lol), and i kno she isnt bulimic cause she would never have the guts to do that, and when ever im with her and she goes to the bathroom she takes me with her

so please dont always asume that just cause someone is skinny that they are anorexic or bulimic, some ppl cant help being supper skinny

People should do what they want with their bodies.
Wether its right or not. Its their life. Society is so obsessed with being thin now adays.

Hi bekums, this is some good information on eating disorder and its motivational too. Even I found one helpful resource online at http://www.eatingdisorder.com/anorexia-bulimia.html?utm_source=forum&utm_medium=pv&utm_campaign=anorexiabulimia, which might be of help. Keep writing. It is very important to help others overcome the problem positively. Take care and God bless!

my family got me help. i wouldn't eat or i would like chew food and throw it away. i would wear a rubberband on my wrist so every time i was hungery i wouldssnap it to remind me not to eat. sometimes i would throw up to lose weigh. i've always been skinny, i just though the skinnier the better. don't do it, it's discusting, it looks bad and can kill you. my brother really helped me with it cause he would throw up when he was younger.

Anyone who thinks that eating disorders like anorexia are a good thing, they're not. Yeah, you lose weight, and it feels like it's worth it. But is it worth losing your friends over? One guy in here dumped his girlfriend because she had an eating disorder. That's really stupid but whatever.
Eating disorders aren't fun. They're not just a way to lose weight quickly. They're serious mental disorders. Do you think having a tube stuck in you making you gain weight is fun?! It's torture.

Sorry for the rant, it's really disorganised and everything, but I just had to say that :/
It really pisses me off when people think that eating disorders are like an accessory, something to be proud of. I have one, but I'm recovering. It took a couple of visits to the hospital & a hell of a lot of refeeding & struggle at home but I'm getting there. I don't think I'll ever be a healthy weight though, I ate heaps this weekend and I lost four kilograms/eight or nine pounds in two days! I don't know how I did it, and they want to put me in hospital again Sad

i agree-u cant change what peoplke think about themselves and u certainly cant change me, i am who i am and if that means im bulimic then so be it ppl just have to accept it

just having a bit of a rant there i am haha

xxx

In other words, you're too lazy to try to solve a serious mental problem which makes you feel like crap and makes your friends hate you?

wow.... this whole thing is stupid...
i dont think an anorexic or bulimic is going to read this and say "oh wow... thats what happens? i think ill stop"
no... they already know...
and calling them lazy and telling them their friends hate them is not supportive at all.
