1)
First, straighten your hair and all the layers.
2)
Take a section of layers at the crown of your hair and tease and backbrush it. Backbrushing is when you lift up a section of your hair and brush it from the tip towards your head, basically just combing it backwards.
3)
Once you're done backbrushing, spray some hairspray on that section of hair so it won't fall down.
4)
Do this to the rest of your hair except your front, where your bangs are. Be sure to tease it well.
5)
Once your done with all of that, lightly brush all the layers you teased/backbrushed so its not as ratty and tangled.
6)
Spray your whole head lightly with hairspray, and there you go.
Try using more hair spray?
Aussie freeze hair spray is the shizz =]
This is what i got off yahoo answers...
"Get 'What a Tease' by Big Sexy Hair....it works amazing! It lifts the root and holds it up basically until you wash your hair next"
"Use a product to lift your roots like a volumizing spray. Also, Aussie instant freeze is a really good hair spray. For teasing, i suggest aeresol. Spray it on after you tease. To get more volume, blowdry and straighten your hair upside down. Put the hairspray on upside down too and wait for it to dry, only a few seconds.
Make sure the tease gets all the way down to the roots, use a comb and press it down. Tease in small chunks because it is easier to get out and it holds up better."

I've said it before and I'll say it again - saltwater spray!
It's amazing for everyone who has soft hair who doesn't want to be teased. Saltwater spray makes your hair a little rougher and waaay easier to tease.
Try that before whining about how bad your hairspray is.

Also, if you have really thick hair, or a lot of hair, then you migth want to put half of you hair, or however much you think you need, into a ponytail. then tease the hair that's not in the ponytail. then after you teased the bottom part, let down the ponytail and tease the rest.
This is what i have to do becasue i've got a ton of hair and it's super thick!! lol
