My psychiatrsit helped me out-and I know anothr thing you ca do!
You take a box and fill with things like playdo, CDs you like, soothing things, paper and colors, a pet rock, stuff like that-then when you feel like cuting you can do that.
And especially play do!
you cn cut into playdo-or rip it-or scratch it-it works.

How to stop cutting (this needs its own topic)

by PissedOffPoet on 05-14-2008 9:48 pm

OK, so i was talking to a psychologist that came to my school, and i asked him like 1000000 questions about emo people (lol), and this is what i learned, this is by far the most useful thing i learned:

Step One: create a time chart for cutting, actually dedicate an hour, or how ever long you want to cutting per day, or how ever many days you see fit through out the day. The catch is, you can't cut any other time, no matter what.

Step Two: depending on how much time you have allocated to cutting will judge how long this step takes. OK, so at first you will take the full time (100% of the allocated time), and set a goal, by so and so weeks (make it three or longer I'd say) I want to be cut free. So over that time period (lets say three weeks) you will slowly ween out the dedicated time until it becomes zero.

Step Three: really there is not step three, but, if this doesn't work, then message/comment me, I'm back from my extended break.

Yeah, that's great and all.
But did you not see the 'How to Stop Cutting' guide just above this?

:/
There's an unfamiliar grip
On an unfamiliar handkerchief
Attending to the tears on cheeks
I wouldn't notice
With you no matter how vicious the grief
Her expression was damp and crooked
Grabs onto my throat and won't let go

I'm sorry I met you, darling.

lol i did, but i wanted more people to see it, i talked to this guy for about 15min about this, and he told me that when people come to him and talk about cutting, this is exactly what he tells them to do. This is why i made it its own post.

Oh, okay.

But I think you should've added on.
'Cause the mods are really iffy about two threads containing the same content.

oh well, I'm pretty sure no one else has said this before. Not to be arrogant, but I'm pretty sure this is better advice than anyone else's.
