Emo+skinnies=Scene
Scene=Emo
Emo=Genre of music
Scene: is what we all fall under.

oh
I know.
Which sucks on my part cause that's all people see. what you're wearing. how you look.
so when they look at me they automatically judge me as a so called 'poseur' (whatever that really means if you think about it..) o.O because i simply dont have the right clothes to fit the part. but its not like i had a choice, i cant afford to buy anything these days. i had to wait forEVER to get thems skinnies. no one sees beyond the clothes though to what really matters.

Unfortunately, it does costs money to own whatever other scene kid has. Especially here in Canada, slip-ons are over 60 dollars when in the US its around 39-40
If you wanna buy a pair of converse, the price is also over 59-60, while in the US, its about the same price as Slip-on vans.

Band shirts, band hoodies, band bags... hats...they cost tons of money and any kid with no job wouldn't afford not even a 36 dollar band shirt while in the US, go to Hot Topic and you'll find whatever you want for a good price.

Unfortunately, the clothes play a huge role in the scene while the hair is only like 30%.
You are not a poseur just because you don't own the right clothes to fit that part. Look at the underground emo bands, at the old emo bands, they never really wear scene from head to toe. You simply don't have a choice and this wouldn't make of you a preppy if you ever go out with a Polo shirt and jeans. You are emo/scene and soon or later you'll have them the right clothes. Don't let them others put you down when 'they' are the real posers/. How? By first misjudging you just because you don't have on your legs the right pants and your chest the right slim tee.
These people just happened to be lucky to own whatever other emo kid owns.

that indeed is so true :'(

It took me forever to save enough money to get a couple of shirts and pants...ahhh *sighs*

Nowadays, it's all about the looks. People judge on what they see, rather than on what they know...(about the person)

I am not scared of any bunch of emos that will happen to walk my direction, or ending up in the middle of millions of them at an underground show.
Why? It's simple, cause I've probably being in the scene more than they have being
How come? Cause probably most of them are just bunch of posers that not long ago did hear of the underground music
They want to be so cool that they'll bite the first other emo kid they see, calling him a 'poseur' when at the end, that 'poseur' kid is actually the 'real' emo and might be the only one in there.

Be not scared of them.
Most real 'emos/scene kids' began as scenesters.

that's so true

like this time this "emo" guy had a backpack with the name MCR in it I asked him:
do you like my chemical romance?

he said:
what is that?
then I said nvm

gee, seriously
way too stupid

are you kidding me??? that so stupid!!! at least pretend that u know the band!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!

it's kinda weird, but it's true.
well, i'm not "scared" of other emos but I'm fuckin scared of posers.. we call them "fashion emos" in germany (didn't look where you come from^^) we laugh about most of them cause they don't know anything about emo than the emo style (although to me emo mostly means music, attitude abd lifestyle) and they look at you as you were some kind of alien -.- it's really nerve racking...

omgg same here
cept like...nearly ALL of my "emo" clothes, are actually meant to be preppy/casual clothes. they just look emo on me because people know me as a freak who always looks depressed when shes not talkin to anyone. but i have no emo clothes with the exception of my accessories (arm/handsocks) and one shirt, one slitted midriff and one pair of shorts.

hahah....today i went out and chose my clothes without noticing what i was choosing, it was just what i liked, i ended up wearing a white and grey long sleeved shirt that said GREASE (from the musical) on it, jeans, and black ballet flats. i also had a really high ponytail. it felt nice dammit.

HAHA.. i love grease! but yeah.. sometimes (and this is a tad pathetic) when i go to the mall with friends and stuff, they make me go to stores and try on clothes that they like, which is kinda preppy but not really.. -_- and they're like 'omg it looks soo good on you.' and me being my insecure self goes 'really?' then i buy it.. and like.. when i look at something emo and i love it i show it to my friends and theyre like 'ew. no.'
mm :/ yeah i have no emo friends haha. X] there's NO ONE here. well except tristan (EmptyHorizon)<3 but he's a guy so it doesnt count haha. i guess i just dress to please ppl.. grr. ><
