You're a walking hypocrite yourself.

soldiers are soldiers, religion doesn't matter when you're fighting, it really doesn't.

Just because they are Christian soldiers doesn't mean they shouldn't shoot at someone who's shooting at them, trying to kill them, and trying to blow them to pieces.

There's nothing wrong with eating meat, either.

I love you.

LOL YOU PWNED HER.
What will it take for you to understand?
This is something the doctors just can't fix.

I am not a religious person myself,
but it really annoys me when someone says they are a certain religion
and they don't know anything about said religion and behave the oppositive of
what that religion teaches.
So I choose not to follow a religion because I don't want to be a religious poser.
when the remembering was done,
the forgetting could begin.

ok there are a couple things in this thread I wanted to respond to.
First of all, Jesus did clearly and plainly eat fish and drink wine. There's no other way to interpret that. Even if it magically appeared it's still fish and wine. Don't be retarded and consider yourself above everyone else because you're vegan. Animals were not always considered sentient beings. I love animals and I could go without their meat but the bible clearly says that some animals are ok to kill and eat. You'd know that if you knew anything about kosher food.

Wicca is a religion and has been around for a long long time. There are plenty of Pagan influences in many different religions. I personally think it's crap, but that doesn't make it any less of a religion.

Homosexuality is considered a sin in the bible.I think it's likely that homosexuality was frowned upon because it would disrupt the gender hierarchy, Not only that but the spread of disease would be more prevalent. As much as I hate to say it, it's true. Most of the things in the bible I would assume have some basis in logic amidst all the dogma and wild stories. Though I'd say that in this era when we have the means available to us to get tested for diseases and have preventative measures such as condoms it's less of a concern. And we can't really discount the fact that heterosexuals also carry diseases and practice promiscuity as well as non-conventional sex such as oral and anal. So in either case the key to a healthier lifestyle is protection and monogamy.

Are you telling me that you actually believe the Adam and Eve story over evolution?

It's all about perspective.

There's a chance 2 things happened at once, and the Bible recording one of the perspectives which works with the other one.

What's with all the Bible haters?

Well I'm not a bible hater but I just don't see how that's possible, Nexus. Even if evolution and creationism happened simultaneously it just wouldn't work. The bible says that this all happened in 7 days. Evolution takes millions of years. Even if you say that it wasn't literally 7 days that's still interpreting it and not taking it at face value. I also think a lot has to be said about the fact that the bible was translated from Hebrew and then rewritten dozens of times after that. I think that the bible is likely good for guidelines but I don't think it can be taken as history.

You have to consider how many things were lost in time and the possibilities that happened during great catastrophes. The Earth has made civilizations disappear overnight.

There's also the fact you can have multiple civilizations existing at once. But which can document history?

Again, it's all about perspective.
There's also the fact when in translation, we could be wrong on a single word, for example the word "days" could've meant something else. Ancient text refers differently than more modernized versions. This is why it's called "Ancient", "Old", etc.

The Bible in itself is a mystery of translation and time. Some things moreover in the differing texts will be translated correctly, others will not. Unless you know the dialect, you are simply interpreting or translating what you see yourself.

So it seems we've reached an agreement.

this was a topic brought up in school and then i got curious about others thoughts other than my classmates.

i personally think that the worst kind of hypocrite is a religious hypocrite.
because they judge others for something they did wrong and then turn around and do it themselves but its ok for them because God has forgiven them of their sins but anyone else who does it still has dirty hands, so to speak.

I was thinking more along the lines of.. people who automatically hate religion because of what they think, even if they have hardly any knowledge of it at all. they just take in what they see around them from the media and such. seriously people, open your minds a bit before making judgment. Evil or Very Mad

A lot of people hate Religion mainly for these reasons:
*They or their friends/family are "bi" or gay
*Religion has been pushed upon them
*They are in situations where they are an outcast if not religious (thus hate it)
*They are in a clique religion doesn't seem to like or makes assumptions on
*Believe in another "religion" as it doesn't disallow anything except extremes. Or they think they are Harry Potter
