Maybe they were made up. But then that would mean that Christianity is just a belief that relies on made-up scriptures. If they were, I'm pretty sure the religion would've deteriorated by now.
Okay. Intertwine wasn't a good word. As Nexus said, they're "guidelines, rather than rules." Yes, today's society is very morally incorrect. But there is still a way to live by the Bible's guidelines.

I'm not trying to offend anyone but, religion is kind of like believing in mythological(sp?) creatures: ex. Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster. There are things written about them and some people believe that they are real but is there any real proof besides that? And for me miracles are extremely good luck that happen to some people.

it has been a topic of debate about the whole killing thing, but seeing as in the old testiment God has His people attack their enemies, the commandment "thou not kill" probably means murder (killing for personal reasons: anger, jealousy, ect.).
as much as some hippies like to say it, meat is not murder. i'm not bashing vegetarians or anything, i'm actually seriously considering becoming one, but not because i think killing and eating animals is wrong. that's what they're here for. and Jesus really did eat fish, it wasn't a magic trick.

You're a walking hypocrite yourself.

soldiers are soldiers, religion doesn't matter when you're fighting, it really doesn't.

Just because they are Christian soldiers doesn't mean they shouldn't shoot at someone who's shooting at them, trying to kill them, and trying to blow them to pieces.

There's nothing wrong with eating meat, either.
