I've noticed that peace signs are becoming very trendy among preps. What's the deal with that? Just the other day I saw a girl wearing a shirt that said "PEACE AND LOVE" on the back....and she was busy talking about how wonderful it is that the U.S. is fighting in Iraq. So I asked her if she believed that war was okay....and she said "yes".
So many people are wearing peace signs, but they don't believe in peace! It's especially bad among preps and popular kids. I have no problem with peace signs, but I think you should agree with the slogans and symbols that you wear. They're just being hypocritical. Anyone else agree?

Yep, its like people being anti nazi, yet wearing a swastika. Or hating the UK, yet wearing the Union Jack.

Yeah that's pretty stupid and I agree completely. People these days just want to go along with the "current" trend, quite a sad thing to see that they can't be an independent person. =/

WTF? preps. Come, on that part of your discussion is stupid. Perhaps you should make it a wider thought that goes through your head instead of just talking about preps and peace signs.
But yes, i HATE it when i see pople who wear things they don't believe in.I don't think i do, but if i do i'll remember this thread

ummm It's not like the "alternative" people started wearing peace signs. Everyone has worn them. If there are peace signs on a shirt from a certain brand they like, or the shirt in general is cool to them, then they'll buy it.
A lot of teenagers are hypocritical in that sense. We have to deal with it, no matter how frustrating it is.

Dude.
I have a shirt that says Peace and Love on it.
Therefore I dislike your thread title.
The war in Iraq is meant to preserve peace, isn't it?
I myself am against the war, though.

I'm just a love machine, feeding my fantasy, give me a kiss or three and I'm fine.

Yes, I agree Nexus.
The sign where you put your pointer and middle finger up, Was originally the sign for victory in WWII. But the hippies in protest of the Vietnam used it as "victory of getting peace and harmony" or something.

Whats the peace sign have to do with fashion and stereotypes? Nothing, that is why this thread is pointless.
Also, I agree with what nexus said.

The 'V' for victory, originally comes form the 1300 or 1400's, and it was the sign that the English archers made at the French.
If the French captured an English archer, they would cut those two fingers off, so that they archer couldn't use a long bow anymore.
