It seriously depends. I always believed in abstinence until marriage but I'll probably not follow through. I definitely don't believe in just fucking for fun and not for love. That's just how I feel about it. So, I'm probably for abstinence in most cases.

I don't really know how much I care about the moral of the debate, but I am probably not going to have sex before I'm really involved with someone because:
A. Awkward situation may arise.
B. I'd rather not have to get a baby pulled out of me.

good reasoning
at least you're not going on about saving yourself for your one true love, your future husband who will love you forever and never leave you or cheat on you
waiting till you're in a stable relationship is reasonable
People don't seem to realize that they cant control the minds and actions of others, that even if they wait for marriage, it wont protect them from STDs, or prevent their partner from leaving them with a kid
it happens, a couple get married, then have a kid, then one of them realises this isn't the life they wanted, and leaves.
YOU CAN'T CONTROL OTHER PEOPLE

Whenever Abstinence is brought up, it reminds me of the Purity Ball.
Basically, Daddies make their teenage daughters go to this 'Purity Ball' so they dance around a cross and kiss it to promise to their fathers and 'God' that they won't have sex until marriage. Pretty ignorant and chauvinistic.

Heh, I had to give a speech to a Uni class about this. Watching people squirm in their seats was excellent, because they really got how perverted the entire thing is.

Well, for one it reduces girls to property, instead of human beings. It tells them that they are a possession of their father, that their actions and feelings belong to him, and takes away their sexual agency. They are no longer permitted to make their own decisions about their bodies, nor are they allowed to know their bodies, because it does not belong to them anymore. Knowledge belies employment of one's body. On top of that, the "possession" of her virginity is transferred from father to husband. She is removed from the process completely.
It also fetishizes childhood. Purity calls essentially say "I want you to be twelve forever." Purity Balls and the Chastity Chic movement completely erase the idea of growing up from the idea that they have of their daughters, since adults make decisions about hemselves, and these girls are not allowed.
Third, it instills deep shame. It makes girls see their awakening bodies as out of control and something they cannot trust, as the body is inherently sinful. That they alone are responsible for holding off slobbering men. That they are instantly soiled if they feel sexual feelings. Girls that falter in thier promise are seen as failures, to themselves, to God, and to Daddy. They are not "Daddy's perfect little girl" anymore.
Third, it sets girls up for failure. Telling a teenager not to feel sexual feelings is an exercise in futility. A teenage girl is still a sexual being, regardless of how many times you tll her she's not supposed to be. They feel these feelings, and they fail to live up to their purity motto. They yield to a boy, because they are not told how to resist (because that's sex education), and they have failed. They are raped, and they are told they have failed (because the onus is placed on women to hold men at bay, and she "obviously" did not do what she should do). They give in to temptation, and they have failed. It wrecks havoc on a girl's self esteem, because not only had they failed their promise to God, but they have "allowed" themselves to be "dirtied."
The entire movement needs to be abolished, for the sake of the girls.

Fuck it. Simple.
Abstinence it's a personal choice, i you want to have per-marital sex that's great, awesome.
If you don't want to, nobody is forcing you.
In the end whenever you want to have sex or not it's your decision & you should carry with the consequences.
Just don't be stupid enough or hope you don't get pregnant or get STD's
I agree with KK, on the "saving yourself for your one true love, your future husband who will love you forever and never leave you or cheat on you"
I mean come on, be realistic, you can't control other people actions. People can go in & out, and it doesn't make you less of a human being to have sex or not, which is something that kind of annoy the hell out of me of virgins that think they're holier than
thou, because they are letting the Vagina unventilated and in hunger for some fresh meat.
In other words.
Bitches back off with your "morals" & "God BS" Let people BE !
Also it doesn't make you more of a woman to have slept with the entire classroom. So don't shove it and pressure others to take a decision they are not mentally capable of dealing with.
AND yew is a tree !

Oh, yeah.
Well it's definitely perverted, I thought you were talking about sexually perverted though.
Which is why I love BATS.
I hope all Purity Balls are stopped by Stags in Football Jackets.
