You could always find a nice picture of the two of you and blow it up in size. Write a nice message on either front, back or both, frame it and voila. I find a nice picture is always appreciated and a lovely memory! :]

I just looked and it says Christmas gift lol. Just let him know that you won't have a lot of money to spend on him so he doesn't expect a lot, and than do something like buy him some candy and write a sweet note. Or just do the other stuff I mentioned before/after Christmas.
