In the Shady Park

Sitting in the shady park
A figure sits amongst the dark
No cars, no noise, no dogs to bark
Alone, afraid, not leaving a mark

He's scared, you know it in his tears
Just all alone, scarred with his fears
Sits in silence, all he dares.
No-one wants him, no-one cares

Hate is all he nearly knows
The pain has caused him one too many blows
He shudders and hides from all his foes
But all you may see is a quiet silent pose.

He's through with pain and hate and lies
He sits head down and deeply cries
He is finished with the smiley disguise.
He only wishes to say his goodbyes

Untitled

Everything always goes wrong.
His heart is anything but strong.
Change always ends up abound.
And so he sinks to the ground.

He can never trust anyone easily.
Betrayal always catches up with him so simply.
His heart demands to let everything free.
He only wishes he could keep it in so no one could see

His thoughts are always depressive.
His only wish is to no longer be a captive.
But he has already given up on everything.
Because he could never get what no one could bring.

Hold Your Balance

Hold your balance
Hold it tight, don’t sway
Keep your footing
So you can live another day

Balance
Hold it all
Don’t move
You may fall

You want their approval
You need their arms
You need security
From all the worlds harms

You’re seeking shelter
But you want to live
You've nothing to take
And nothing to give

Focus on the happy things
You’ll lose your balance
For even now, you sway
Forget all the grievance

Balance on this needlepoint
Just one more day
Not like you have a choice.
There is no other way

Face Your Fears

Lonely from the beginning,
Just waiting for his death,
Hoping for that single moment,
At which he would loose his breath.

Sitting in a corner of darkness,
Thinking what went wrong,
Why he was stuck in this world?
He had waited far too long.

At the start he feared death,
Just thinking of the pain,
But he’d had enough of all the tears,
He had no one else to blame.

He was only fourteen years old,
But life, was the thing he couldn’t bear,
He only thought of what people would say,
He only then realized no one would care.

He discovered all types of objects,
The kind that hurt the most,
He gathered knives and pills,
The thing he feared nearing close.

His body was full of stories,
Each scar symbolizing a broken heart,
Each slice was nothing,
Compared to all that hurt.

They say he did it laughing,
Laughing at the pointless years,
Because repeated all over his body,
Were the words: “Face Your Fears”

Open..

Open your eyes
And see what you do
All the many things untrue

You lie and cheat
You hurt and break
You leave and abandon

All this pain and guilt
Why can’t you see
What it does to me

I feel cold and bare,
Wounded and dismayed
Forever set back and destined to fade

Cold, alone and adrift
What’s to come but more pain
Only that for me to gain

the way you've put the words together is great... the subject however is more overdone than my mothers thanksgiving turkey.

Don't be. Put it up. I'd like to read it, and I'm sure it'll make a nice refresher for the typical gloom and doom atmosphere.

It's not my usual style and it's more of an out of the blue moment for me...

[Not sure what to title this one..]

I know this boy
With a wonderful grin
He’s captured my heart
And that’s just where I'll begin

You should know
Just every little reason
Why I love him so

A presence drops
When ever he walks by
All over, and through the sky

Why should this be wrong
When it feels so right
He makes my heart beat faster
He makes my head feel light

Oh I love this boy
The way he holds my hand
The way he says "I love you"
You simply could not understand

No one else could take his place
No one could ever hold me so tight
He is there to brighten up my day
Just like a ray of sunlight

I love this boy
And he loves me too
So tell me, are you jealous yet?
Well too bad, he’s not for you!

Be kind please... Razz

It's been awhile thought i would add a few...just need to find the rest.
Not too sure about this one. It's sounds...wrong lol. No way to explain it, just
didn't feel this one.

[At a loss for a title]
The rain splatters down my window
I gaze up at the misty grey sky
Thinking of only one
The only one who never made me cry

In my hand I hold the note that you gave me
Now battered, torn and frail
But it's all I have left of you
The only reality in this never ending fairy tale

And as I look in the mirror
I swear I see the ghost of you
I blink and see only myself
An empty reflection out of view

My heart is lost without anyone to love
Only just managing to beat
An overwhelming sadness flooding through
Without you, I’m incomplete

My body acts as a case
To a shattered soul
Trying to enclose my fountain of pain
That's far out of control

The stars guide me to your grave
I fall to my knees and pray
That somehow you're still alive
That somehow you've never gone away

My heart can't believe you're gone
No more days by the pier
Even though you're lying just below
You’ll never be here, never near

Even the trees lean over you, creaking
Like the crying mourners of that fateful day
Even the skies cry their pain
Nothing but rain, for this perfect get away

I’ll never understand why this had to end
You weren’t just my one and only
You were my only one.
The one, I loved so boldly

Well thank you, i guess it was better than i thought =]

Here is a couple more....

[Thank You Note]
You leave me speechless
I have no idea what to say
All I know is
I’ll make it today

It’s all because of you
That I know of happy endings
You’re the one who’s cared the most
About me and these feelings

I have been shattered
And wandered astray
You have stuck though it
Supporting me every step of the way

I must say thank you
Just once more
This time with paper and pen
To show how much I adore

So please take this.
My thank you note
Just so you know
Who kept me afloat.

[Depression Hurts]
*Warning* Waaay over used topic...Read at own expense..

Depression hurts,
It’s a feeling of dread.
Wanting to be left alone,
Feeling like you’re better off dead.

You gaze at the blade,
Almost every single day,
You can only think to yourself,
Will this pain ever go away?

You pick up a blade,
Press it to your skin.
Slice it down deep,
And watch it all begin.

You listen to yourself,
As you cry out,
You can’t help but to let out
Another, Pain filled shout.

You let the blade fall,
You are now done.
Now thinking to yourself,
You should’ve chose the gun.

[Frame By Frame]
I'd like to think of this one as a work in progress...I think it needs some serious editing.
Opinions?

I'm living life frame by frame
Everything looks exactly the same
Day in day out, repeated things no doubt

Black and white everything appears to me
All the color of my life gone and empty
Lost and trapped in a colorless world

I hear nothing but ringing in these ears
Nothing but the same old sound
Only adding to my rising fears

Someone give me color
All the color, to this colorless life
To change all of this, to end this strife

Someone stop the ringing
And end all of these doings
To heal all of these achings

I’m begging for you to shine down
To chase away all the shadows that now surround

Depression does hurt, and it's hard to put into words how you feel. That poem is an exact replica of how I felt, and it sucked. Bro, that is an awesome poem. All the best.

Thanks. Depression really is something hard to live with and it seems you understand that Fearless.
I've been reading your poems as well and they describe the troubles of depression perfectly. I've always
found it interesting to hear people's stories/experiences and i think the best way to express them is through poems and songs. Your poems are quite detailed with much expression which really shows that you have a talent for writing. I really enjoy them :] (I guess i really should have post that in one of your topics, oopsy!)

Anyways, here is another poem.
Another *Warning*...read at own expense

This one, like most of mine, is untitled. If you have any ideas for
titles, i'm all ears. (or would it be eyes?.....)

[Untitled]
Blood drips on the floor
His heart beats no more
A blade enclosed in his hand
A crimson festival so grand
He lays cold in the dark
Unseen, not even a mark
Freed from his chains
By his own bloody stains
All that is left is silent remains
Forever cloaked in silence
No one missing his slightest absence
Finally his soul is at peace
All it took was for his life to cease
His torment came to an end
By his knife, his only friend
Tranquility comforts him
Sealed in a silent hymn
Drowned in his own tears
In a glass box full of fears
Now, there’s no more heart to break
He will never have to wake
His happiness will never have to be a crime
As his body will only fade away with time

Here is another poem. This one kinda hints at some emotional turmoil, but over all is kinda happy.
So enjoy. Oh and if an ideas for titles come to mind, they would be much appreciated. Thanks

The lights get brighter as I feel time pass.
I step on the pedals and lay on the grass.
The cool air feeds my lungs, and soothes my skin,
As we lay together chin to chin.

We stay together, along in silence
Together forever without absence.
We lay in wonder, soaking each other in.
How could this ever be a sin.

At this moment, eye to eye
We’ve no need for words as we gaze up to the morning sky.
We each became clear as the sun rose
Basking as the whole world glows

Wishing not to leave, we laid and stared at one another
Communicating, in our silent way, our love for each other
Just waiting for that day when our love no longer has to be a rumor,
And we can finally walk hand in hand with humor.
