I hate the word EMO.

It makes all of us "emos" so labeled and kids think it's funny to pick on us based on some STUPID stereotype.

I hate all of the stereotypical people there are in this world.

It's SICKENING.

I concider myself Scene. It's more of a word than Emo. Emo's not even in the dictionary for gods sake.

And anyone who says that emo is short for emotional; they're right. It's just people who stand up for emo have their own definition, therefore not making it a word.

I'm sick of walking down the hallways being known as the emogirl.
It's stupid and it hurts to know why people don't want to hang out with you.
If you're one of the people that think scene is more your version, right on. but anyone who denys the fact that people think that emo is only for gay people who cut themselves and seek for attention THEY ARE WRONG. Don't get me wrong [some people do cut themselves for attention making it even more wrong]
But everyone is EMO[emotional]
It's discusting already.
"Gosh, all you preppy people get the fuck over yourselves and think about when you cried or have written in a journal, alright?"
That's what most people say, am I not right?
Cause I know it's what I say.
[and + it's pretty goddamn normal to write secrets in a book]
I'm not going to stand for people calling me EMO anymore;
Because, the more I let them get to me,
the more I think about WHAT THE FUCK I am thinking letting them walk all over me.

Reading this over, it sounds a lil harsh. but it's the goddamn truth.
This cite is vagely overrated.
If people come here to be themselves, their just living up to the stereotype. and most likely not being themselves..
and I know I know, what makes me so right about all of this "crap" you are reading. I probably am not right,
but this is what I think about.
and maybe you'll start thinking too....

I'm done with this over populated, stereotyped world.

Confused

I totally agree. it's scene, not emo.
but you don't have to get all upset by people labeling you emo, as long as >you< know that you are scene and not some 'emo stereotype', right? just ignore them.

I wouldn't say I'm scene

because scene is just the fashion and the music.

So what if I cut myself and I'm bi? It doesn't mean i like being called emo. When people call me emo it's to insult me and put me down. I don't mind when other emos call me emo, but it's my state of mind. Emo is a name, but last time I checked my name was Catherine and not emo

uhh o.O

for one, why cant anyone get this through their head?
EMO and SCENE are the SAME THING. ok?

Emo-the genre of music known as Emotional Hardcore, roots go back to 80's punk bands, and branched out. It's not just emotional, because ur right, everyone is emotional, but u didnt even know what the term actually meant, anyways. :/

Scene- the FASHION of emo. as in, we "scene kids" take things that our "emotional hardcore" band members wear, and adopt it into our OWN style.

they are the same. it's not even really two different terms, its one whole PHRASE called, Emo Scene.
---------------------------------------------
just thought i ought to clear THAT up first before i went on..

ok. u made a harsh subject, just a heads up, anything i say on here, i dont mean any offense, im clearly just stating a point. alright.

One. you hate sterotypical people. okay, that makes a lot of sense, so do a lot of people, in fact most people do. so why is it still here? because most people ALSO care what other people think, and judge others as well, regardless of what they "really" feel. You say it makes us so "labled" to be called emo, yet u say youre "scene"[[wtf??]]..and not to mention when u obviously dont know the history behind which youre talking about, since scene and emo are the same thing
You get all pissed off about the dreaded stereotypes, and fine, we all do, god knows i do. but the fucking fact is, that "stereotypes" are always going to be here. they wont ever everrr evrrrrr go, and that that. thats life.
What i dont get is, why you CARE so much? who cares what they say? and obviously u DO consider urself emo or u wouldnt even bother being on here. and BESIDES. why do people think being called emo is such a NEGATIVE thing? there is nothing at all wrong with it and i would rather accept the term, because thats just it, its a TERM. you cant change that. people define you to one word until they know you and that is just how it is. those people suck, but its nothing to be ASHAMED of. i mean theyre going to call us something. what difference does it make what they call us as long as we are who we really truly are??

and do u know how to get over all the shit they call u ? emo girl or whatever?
stop fucking caring. jesus. the sooner you do the better.why not just laugh at them and be like "yeah im the emogirl but ur the nasty fucking slut" or something. u dont have to be all quiet -.-

like what the hell. u can stand up so easy, and be better then them by not giving a shit. so what if ur emo? like its a bad thing? so. what.

u dont have to let them "walk all over you"
but dissing emo when u clearly have a WAYYY distorted version of what it really is, obviously made by the people around you, is not going to do anything.

you can be angsty and rebellious against the world as much as u want but it doesnt change it and it doesnt make it go away. you have to deal with it and the best way to do that...is to be educated about it.

OOOkay. thanks tess.. you got me thinking. haha x]

she's right [tess, i mean] who gives a shit if you're called emo or scene. they are the same thing pretty much. why be ashamed of it?
stereotyping is everywhere, it's in everyone, and everyone is labelled.
who cares. you shouldnt. at all; it's who you are and you have to deal with it.
people who make fun of emos are complete idiots, who think they are some how better than us because of who we are. does it matter? no. that's how they entertain themselves.. it's sad, really.
yep that's all i gotta say for now. (laziness plus tess pretty much said it all.)

but i still like you. and i still think you're smart. lol.

I love the word EMO personally.....it is just fun. Because everyone debates its meaning and then everyone gets worked up about it. A word that can cause such a fuss, is certainly interesting at least! Razz Razz Razz

the simple fact of the matter is. if ur going to talk about such a wordin a manner of disgust....you better know what it means first.

thats why i get mad at least. but whatever. i dont REALLY care.

i care for the benefit of OTHERS knowledge of a subject they so carelessly throw about.
psh.

Hahahaha, wow. That's true.

But see, I meant something Totally different.. I just couldn't really get the words out...

& thanks for calling me smart...
but I don't get how I'm smart, I just kinda freaked out over a lil thing, but I do care about it that much because I'm sick of being called it.
If you think "emo" is a state of mind scene is totally different duh, cause it's clothing and fashion shit. not "a state of mind"

but whatever.

We all have our different opinions and shit, so whatever.
