Welll...I have that same problem. My "friends" call me emo, even people i am not even friends with. But being emo is like, saying that i don't give a shit what you think, and imma be me. so it used to bother me, but then i thought about that and felt better. sooo itt allll gooodddddd!

yea i get called emo to, but by my whole school pretty much all the time.. you see my school is mostly populated by jocks an muzzas, but its kinda funny wen they say it 2 u an i go um yea i am emo... most of the time they go all quite or they try to b smart an make a comeback but it really doesnt work.. lol

yeah, if you walk down the street and people feel like insulting you they call you 'emo kid' not 'scene kid'. scene means different things to different people, different scenes (yourscenesucks.com). a common backlash is: 'I'm not a music genre' but that tends to confuse the others more and you just get 'whatever, emo kid. just go sit in your hole and kill youreslf already.'

But so long as you know that emo is a music genre, it doesn't really matter what others think.

I get called a lot of things, but only 'fag' bothers me, cos that's what my asshole dad calls me, and has called me since I was 14.

You Know, I had and have the same problem. Kids on my buss and at school kinda say 'Emo' here and there. But all you can realy do is just laugh at it. I mean come on. Who are they to call any one emo. I call them fags. Ha. Besides. Play with the name calling. Just act it out.
