i read it on Buzznet that the band smokes weed. and Pretty.Odd. is, more likely, the product of it.
Well, weed would kind of explain why they went back to nature so to speak in Pretty. Odd. However, most would argue that they'd be more likely trying to get lucky with their female fan-base than writing songs while high.
As for my thoughts on Panic, I like them, a lot. Their lyrics are pretty speccy and even if they weren't, who cares, Brendon Urie is delivering them, they're amazing in any sense.
Pretty. Odd. didn't suck in my opinion, they just matured as a band. Just because they matured into a band that is 40 years old doesn't make a difference, it was an epic sound in the 60's and it can be an epic sound here today.
Top songs would have to be, Build God, Then We'll Talk, Mad As Rabbits, Time to Dance (the 4:10 version, the 3:22 version that was released on the album completely annihilates what was an epic song) and There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet. However, for their best live song I'd have to say Lying Is the Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off. Ryan adds some amazing guitar solo that makes the song feel complete on so many different levels.
Edit: I've had to edit this post about a dozen times because I'm listening to my Panic at the Disco collection now and every time I hear a new song I feel that deserves going in my favourite song list and I replace a previous selection otherwise it would look like I've listed an album. I'll leave it as it is now, if I change it anymore I'll end up giving up and listing their entire discography.
