My answer remains the same.

Because humans are selfish & never satisfied with what they have.
All countries feel as if they should be dominant; they all want the best.
We can't be peaceful & share what we have, we all want things (Such as resources) for ourselves.
Each country will do basically anything in its power to up itself. Even if it means destroying others.

Also; I'm not quite sure if I understood the question fully, so feel free to bash the living shit out of my post.

well our country went to war to irak cause of they felt threatend by that guy lol even tho hes dead now , were still out there , fighting incoent people , for no reason.
america joined aswell because the thought they new where he was , but blatnley not!!

also there was a war in turkey last year , my cousine was fighting in it! , we should be ashamed he said cause english and americans over there were killing young people and women!!!!! for no reason,!! its sick!!!

as i live in a country that has been trough a tragic war 10 yrs ago, i know that war is nonsense.
it is either provoked by predjuice, or it is because of money(AKA power), and it is nearly never for freedom.
war is a fucked up thing, we cant do anything about it because the decision makers are old smelly bastards who just want money.(im talking about invaders, countries that are invaded do fight for freedom and onlyx freedom.)

That's all a matter of opinion, though personally I do agree with you: I don't quite think that the advancements we've made during war are worth the lives of millions of people, but that doesn't mean the advancements haven't been big and important, because they have.
