Issues with a little brother

by izzyjonp on 08-08-2008 11:53 pm

i know this sounds kind of silly and most adults just say to grow up but i have this pillow that i have had since i was like 2 years old and it really means a lot to me and today my little brother ripped it on purpose because he was angry i wanted to beat him but being older i figured i wont now i told my parents and all they said was sorry and that really ticked me off i mean he never gets in trouble but if i do something i get in trouble so inorder for him not to get to my stuff i started locking my bedroom door but he always manages to sneak and get my stuff and he allways hides it...it is so annoying.....what can i do to prevent this situation without getting myself in trouble in the process besides telling my parents cause they dnt really give a crap..........all help is appreciated thx

Actually let him use your stuff. Then it won't be fun for him anymore and he will stop.
Also don't get angry. It also just feeds their fire. Just act indifferent and it will go away eventually.

i am, or at least was that younger brother, I'm 21 now but have 3 older brothers and an older sister, my brothers clicked on that if i could have the stuff i didn't want it. so they just gave me there crap and said i was allowed to use there stuff and i eventually became bored, the fun was in there reaction.

we all love a good chase.

altho the tables have turned now cos I've got the cool stuff that they want to use, and there always bugging me to use them ¬_¬

As a little brother, I know from experience that in my younger days, nothing would stop me from wanting to use my older brother's stuff or sisters. What you gotta do is convince him that playing with that stuff isn't fair to you, and make him stop. Punishment won't do it, nor locks.

I'm sorta in the same position as you. I have a younger sister who annoys me to no end. What I've found is that it really helps if you don't over-react to anything they do to irritate you, cuz that only provokes them to do it again, and see how respond.
i'll keep hiding behind the plastic smile, while i tear my heart in two

Hehe. I guess I'm pretty lucky then. Oldest of 7, I never had any problems with any little brothers taking my things or doing what I didn't want them to. Makes me glad Wink.

I know how you feel. I have a little sister and she is the same. I got this big safe thing and it has a combo lock.
& I put all my stuff in there.
Maybe you should get one.

Shamefully.. I was an annoying little brother.
This is what my sister did to me: When we were asleep she drew on our faces, mine and my brothers'. Maybe a name of a girl that he likes or just obscene images. Steel his stuff and hide it in the yard, attack, high shelves, etc.. If he has a pet fish, flush it.

I just love revenge.
