Ok. How can i dress in the emo style without freaking my parents out? They're really careful about how much black and dark colors are in my wardrobe and about how i present myself in general. They think black equals goth and they don't really approve of skulls or hearts or anything like that, so what do i do? I feel like i can't be myself around them and it really sucks!
Can anyone help me with this fashion problem?
i need help with my wardrobe

Father christmas, give us some money
Well beat you up if you make us annoyed
Father christmas, give us some money
Dont mess around with those silly toys
Save all the toys for the little rich boys
I made a blog read it or don't read it...I don't care http://agirllikethat-agirllikethat.blogspot.com/

Make your parents to understand ,that you are enought great, to choose what to wear!
When i started to buy skulls adn kinda thing my parents were shocked XD They were making fun of me (specialy my dad), my mom didn't wanted to buy them, but 3-4 monts later, they stared to like them XD
Because the saw that there is no way out. And now i can wear whatever i want, and i don't care what are they going to say X)

but i feel that most of my clothes are too preppy, and i don't like preppy clothes, i just know that my parents would be ok with me buying 'em. plus, they go shopping with me, so they get to say what i can and can't buy. >.<

I suck with clothes, but I'm bored, so I've found a few things. Have a look in whatever stores you can get to and see if you can find anything similar. Don't be boring and dress like everyone else. Be inventive.

emo is the music, scene is the fashion
Tell someone you love them. Do it now, tomorrow might be too late.

You don't need to dress all black, but that doesn't mean you must look like a christmas tree, either. Just try to find a nice balance between black and colours that both you and your parents will like.
It's all about compromising with your parents when you're young.

-__- i'm not a big fan of name-brands. i usually shop at walmart (sometimes even in the boy's department so i can find regular t-shirts ^_^) because i refuse to shop at popular clothing stores.
well, thanx for all the advice you guys (and girls) contributed. =)
