I have a friend. His mother is an alchoholic. A week and a half ago she got drunk and started threatining him. We were at the county fairgrounds because we're in 4-H and have horses we show there. It happened at 2am and my 4-H club called the cops on her. She was arrested and released the following morning. He and I don't generally talk anymore so I guess we aren't really friends but the problem is I'm 100% sure I love him and I'm afraid to call him up on the phone at talk to him about it because I don't feel ready to tell him and I don't want to let it slip. I'm also afraid his mom will pick up the phone and I'll yell and scream at her for for being an asshole...That is my problem and my friends back home have no advice for me.

maybe you should be there and confort him.
just call him up anyways and ask him if he wants to hang out.
wait for things to cool down with his mom first before you tell him.
