lol i think you mean vegitarian!?!?! lol

No I meant vegan, eventhough it is also permitted for vegetarians.

(Veganism is a more strict relative of vegetarianism.)

They meant the part that said "veterinarian" and vegan friendly.

I've been eating tofu since I was a little kid, even though I didn't even know about it.

My mom is sneaky like that.

Tofu is the BEST in soups. Deliciousness.

I love tofu! Yeah fried is good even though it's unhealthy. I eat it plain out of the box sometimes... Sad does that mean I am weird?! It tastes better to me like that than with a whole bunch of crap on it.
when the remembering was done,
the forgetting could begin.

haha, omg; it does say veterinarian!

I love that tofu is an emo food now, it makes me love it even more. <3
I need tofu, because it has alot of protein, which is an essential component in my vegan diet, and I'll take what I can get. Although I don't particularly enjoy the taste, I am hoping that I will gradually learn to like it.

emo is supposed to feel bland and unhappy.

hahaha I laughed out loud on that one.

This article rocks, thank you for spotlighting the boring tofu, who shall only be known as cute from now on. ^.^

Tofu sucks so bad if you don't know how to cook it.
When I decided to become a veggie, I went and got some tofu.
Just some cheap kind. I brought it home and stuck it in a pan with just olive oil.
Needless to say, that was disgusting.

But I think tofu tacos are good and fried.
That's about the only time I'll eat it.

I probably LACK protean. LMAO
Oh well....

TRIVIA QUESTION: A popular food in Chinese and Japanese cooking, I have gained a reputation for being extremely nutritious, and rich in proteins. There is some dispute about my origins. It's possible Mongols introduced the technique for making me - similar to making cheese - to northern China during the Han dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD). However, there is no doubt that the Chinese, from Emperors to peasants, were enjoying me by the 10th century AD. Despite being invented in China, it is my Japanese name for which I am known worldwide. Although I didn't become popular in the west until this century, early visitors to China were quick to see my possibilities. What am I?

TRIVIA ANSWER: Tofu. Now called dou fu in China, tofu is the Japanese adaptation of its original Chinese name, tou-fu. It's hard to exagerate the importance of tofu in Asian cooking. It is available in a variety of forms - fresh, dried, fermented or pickled - with several basic kinds, from silken to soft, as well as dried bean curd sheets. Benjamin Franklin learned of the making of tofu from soybeans - which he describes in a letter as a type of cheese made from "Chinese caravances" - and was interested enough to send a sample of soybeans home to a friend in America. However, the first mention of tofu from the Western world comes from Friar Domingo Navarette, who wrote about it in 1665, after spending several years in China. ^^

If you didn't make all that up off the top of your head, I'd suggest giving the source(s) you got the information from. Wink
