I both this magazine last week and while reading it I notice that there was something about 'the emo kids' on the second page.So,started reading the text and , as you can expect -
'some sad teens that are lonely and depressed' and that shit.
And there were same interveues given from some teens saying that they're sad and that's why they're emo and everything. ok,there was one saying that he just likes the music and is pretty happy.
And I got mad.ripped the page and throw it in the bin. What,the media can't get enough by talking shit on Tv and the net,so thay started writing in the magazines?! damn those motherfuckers! no wonder there are so many posers out there when they are sorounded by magazines,sites and the TV saying how you should be if 'you're emo'.

Anyway, yeah, people make money off of steriotypes and whatnot...

And anybody who walks around depressed and says "I'm emo" is usually a poser. I mean, letting the media interview you? Yeah right. Posers.

I mean, I don't think necessarily that "emo" is just a music genera because it's such an evolved term, so if you're gonna say "emo" as a steriotype, do it right. If i could make all the rules and had mind controlling powers (lol) an "emo" kid wouldn't be one that thinks he's just oh-so depressed. <<<No one rant on that, or I'll fuck you.

The juxtaposition of subculture into mainstream is nothing unknown. It happens quite often and is done by industries (fashion, movies, music, etc.) to make lucrative sums. Complaining about "posers, subculture, definitions, etc. ," will not detriment corporations from profiteering of subcultures.

In a couple of years everyone will become fed up with "emo," and move on to some other subculture. One thing you must remember is that the definition of many things is ambiguous. You don't have to meet such and such requirements to be emo rather than a poser. What exactly does a poser imply, anyway [rheotorical question, btw]?

That having been said, I understand quite aptly how you feel when mainstream society generalizes fashion and lifestyle choices, butchers they're uniqueness, and the puts you on the "bandwago," of conformity.

Not that conformity is necessarily bad, mind you, I simply dislike things (such as my sexuality) to seem like tools for becoming popular.

Ahh, theres the "poser" word again .. but anyway, The media attacks anything they think will make money. Ex. Britany spears, micheal jackson, religions,cultures. You shouldnt really pay too much attention, there are always going to be some ignorant people out there; we just have to learn to ignore them.
