My friends couldn't be more mainstream, but they take me as I am. Real friends should be like that..

well, think of it this way. ur on emobucket rite? so u consider and eccept the fact that ur emo. so why does it bother u? just think of it as a nickname or something. and i really doubt that any of them stop being ur friend if u fit into that steriotype. and if they do, theyre not ur friends.

Tell them that it bothers you. They're your friends, so they should respect that. My friends are all scene, so we pretty much just joke around about the "emo" thing, and when people call us emo, we feed the stereotype (in a sarcastic way, so they know I'm kidding, not in a poser way. I don't pretend to be depressed)

as far as I know music cannot access and use a computer, especially not go on a forum. emo is music, so she's not emo, and she doesn't need to accept the fact that she is music because she isn't music. she might dress a little scene, but NOT fucking emo!

theres two ways of looking at it. some ppl say that ur either emo or ur not. scene just being another name for it. other ppl think that emo is music and scene is fashion. im one of the ppl that says ur emo. ok? think what u like. it doesnt matter but dont try to start something over a computer.

it's like saying someone is polka. you can't be polka. emo is an abbreviation. an abbreviation for emotive hardcore. though the definition of words eventually change, but so far calling a kid emo is just slang. incorrect slang, that is. I don't care so much when someone says someone dresses emo, because you can dress punk and punk is also a genre, but you can't be it.

Well, I've already got some haters, and I haven't been quote-and-quote "emo" or "scene" or whatever the fuck for that long. And I don't have preppie friends. Because I have like, 3 friends. So I guess I'll never know. Most people hate me regardless, so...

But yeah, there are people that are already telling me they hate my style, and not talking to me for it. Including the idiot prep girl I know (which i'm dammmm happy for!!!) but there's at least some people who i would like to like me but because of my style don't as much.

And guys, who cares to argue about whether it's called emo or scene... the music's actually called Emotional Hardcore, emo-core, you know... I've seen so many fights about that it makes me want to sell my cat for crack lmao... so unless it's in a thread about it, why should we really get so pissed off? Idk. That's my opinion on the useless and immature posts that argue that there, i said it, i was blunt. not really. but i wish that we could all just come together and make a term that means "dresses scene, isn't a poser, listens to emo-core and related music, is a deep, emotional person".

my freinds always call me emo and every time i do i flip out about it and im fine with it well it annoys me cause now they call me it just to watch ,me flip out but ohz well i know that they still lovedz mez so im fine with it and dont let every thing get to u if u do u wont be able to have fun in life blow some stuff off just plow through the negative stuff like ur a big rino

I guess i could be called emo but most of my friends are the rich preps. I get the universal sign language for go cut yourself a lot.. Weve grown furthur and further apart and i think im due for new set of friends, sigh.

that's how it should be. why cant people accept that we are all different and just get along!? friends should be decided by personality and true feelings not by stereotypes and judgements.

ok, i mean i have so many diffrent type friends, it doesnt really matter what people look like on the outside (though it is nice to have some one look like you). We get along because we see things as they are, we dont lie to each other, its based on personality. And we all can have our "emo.tional." moods.but that doesnt make us all quote on quote "emo".... so it shouldnt matter, and if they make you cry they arent your friends, they should like you for who you are. So maybe you should rethink who you hang out with, or just tell them strait up what u think.

Oh and also, "emo" is a song genre, not a style, "scene" is a style. so dont get them confused.

And dude, if soemone has such a problem with taking the good and the bad with being scene maybe they shouldnt be, its a style to get noticed. some like and some hate. its just the way it goes. suck it up.

My best friend Lauren never calls me "emo". She knows that it pisses me off. One of my other "friends" used to call me "emo" all the time. She would tell me how everybody hated me because I was "emo". She would always use it as an insult against me. I didn't say anything for awhile, because I didn't want to start any drama over a stupid word. But she kept doing it, even after I told her why I felt she should stop. So, finally, I blew up at her. I went on a giant rant about people that said things like she did. Needless to say, we're no longer friends. (:
But don't let it get to you. You should just explain to them why it upsets you so much. If they're really your friends, they'll understand. *

ther were a couple scene people in my school, but they wer a grade ahead and now they're going to high school so im one of 2 scene people left and the other is my girlfriend

none of my friends call me emo,we're cool with each other
but my family is a pain in the ass,always calling me emo
