Much better than cutting by far.
And more fun, seeing as you can re-make it and beat it up again. Or make something out of it. Cool

Unless you have an autoclave, there is no way to achieve medical sterilization at home.

Throwing in my disclaimer: I highly recommend you stop. This is not a healthy coping method.

That said, scissors do more damage than a razor and cannot be cleaned. I am not recommending you use a straight razor, or that you cut at all, but the scissors are less than a good idea.

oh well I think I'm immune to infections now cause they used to get infected all the time but now they never do.

That's wishful thinking. Don't tempt an infection.

Seriously I used to get them once a week and I haven't had one in 6 months.

Doesn't mean a thing. Keep in mind there are superbugs out there now, namely MRSA.

I made this guide so you would be smart about this method of coping, so be smart about it and don't risk an infection just because you may think you are immune.

Yeah I don't wanna get that MRSA thing. Simone Simons, the singer of a band I really like called Epica got it and they had to get a different singer for an entire tour. oops this has nothing to do with the topic oh well. So here's a question: is it bad to use parts of soda cans?

Very.
It's not quite as bad to use a perfectly clean surgical knife, even though that's still pretty bad - CUTTING IS NOT GOOD

And just wondering... Does holding the tool under a blowtorch for a good ten seconds sterilize it?

No. The only way to achieve medical sterilization is via an autoclave, which uses not much immense heat but also pressure to kill off microbial life. Flames not only dull the edges of the implement, but begin to break down the metal's structural integrity by causing 'pores' to open, allowing contaminants to have a place to go and breed. On top of that, I'm not sure I would want a combustible, like acetylene or propane, all over the instrument that will soon go through my flesh.

How long will it take for my scars to heal? It's been over a year for some of them. How much longer?

Unless the scars are very superficial, they will likely never go away. Scars are made of fibrous tissue that is almost impossible to break down. So, don't make more.

^Found that out the hard way. If it takes more than 15 minutes of pressure and towels to stop bleeding, it'll definitely be obvious during your next job interview.

Good. Mine rarely bleed more then a few drops so they'll probably go away soon.
