Robert Frost is pretty good so is Mary Frye. Her poems are pretty popular like this one....

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

waiting for change

by l0veStRuKk on 06-03-2008 12:34 pm

i wrote this one! rawr

Everyday I sit and think about life
and how everyone is different and unique.
Every night I wish upon only one star,
that when morning comes I'll be someone else other than me.

There are the pretty girls, the social girls and the popular ones too,
There are the smart girls and the ones with all the confidence.
Out of all of these categories, there's not one I fit into,
I will never be the girl everyone wants to be.

I sit and stare at the world around me,
I wonder why I can't ever enjoy life,
And be more of an interesting and exciting person.
However every time I look into the mirror all I see is me.

Most of the time I know I don't belong,
I feel alone and don't want to go on.
I want to be someone that stands out of the crowd,
Someone other than plain old me.

I know nothing will ever change,
I'll be stuck in this place for the rest of my time,
Wishing, hoping and praying that things will soon be different,
but I'll always know the change will never come.

I adore the poem "i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)" by ee cummings.

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

I'm running out of room
Don't make me say it
There is nothing left in me

Karma me, baby.

my fave poem is Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
some say in ice,
From waht i've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
to say that for destruction on ice
Is also great And would suffice
Robert Frost

Edgar allan poe hands down [:

My favorite by him is-

Alone

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view

Needs some diversity.

Lord Byron is easily superior to any American poet.
Do you know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed.
