Hi! Ok, so as some of you know, I post a lot in the fashion forums, and one of the most common questions I see is about hairspray! You would think some kids would be smart and use the SEARCH BUTTON, but they don't and I'm left responding to numerous hairspray questions. lol.
In this little guide, I'll answer some common questions about hairspray (more specifically, freezing hairspray) and which ones I think are the best to use.

01. I desperately need some good hairspray. I was curious as to what you guys use because my hairspray sucks!
Personally, I'm currently using Big Sexy Hair freezing hairspray (as shown in the picture above). The last product I tried was Bed Head; Biggie Hard Head freezing hairspray. Both, as mentioned, are aerosol freezing sprays, which are the strongest hold you can get from a hairspray. This type is typically used by most scene/ emo kids because they have the strongest hold and, when the right brands are chosen, have a lasting, multi-hour hold.
02. I'm kinda trying 2 spike my hair in the back and my hairspray/ gel isn't working so well... What should I use?
If you have or are trying to achieve the typical emo hairstyle, where it's long on the front, and short and spikey in the back
(as shown in the picture above)...
DO NOT USE GEL!!!!
Trust me, it'll either not work, or it'll look like shit.
For this style you should use a good freezing hairspray. I'm a huge promoter and supporter of freezing hairspray (as you can tell), but that's because they've got the absolute best hold!
Also for this style, a little tip, I wouldn't choose hairspray as your main product, a good whipped or styling wax should be the key! =)

FREEZING HAIRSPRAY
As I've said, freezing hairspray has the strongest hold you can get in any hairspray. So in my opinion, it is the "best". You can use it with generally any hairstyle, and the right brands have a lasting hold. So if you're looking for something strong that will hold your "poof" or those emo spikes, freezing hairspray is your answer! That quickly brings us to our next question... Which one do I use?
There are so many brands out there on the market making shopping for the right brand hard, but here I'll list some brands that I recommend.
Some good brands include Big Sexy Hair, Bed Head, Got2be Glued, and Aussie. Big Sexy Hair is my favorite! It has a long lasting, flexible hold and doesn't make your hair look dull, in my opinion, it's the best you can get if you can afford it. I personally haven't used Aussie, but plenty of people have used it, liked it, and recommended it, including Hector of The Medic Droid.
The thing with Bed Head and Big Sexy Hair is that they are both salon products and can run a little pricy, but are completely worth it if you can afford it. Aussie is sold in stores just about anywhere they sell hair products and is a lot cheaper then salon products.
Some brands that aren't so good include Salon Grafix, and Freeze It. They have horrible holds!
One thing about most (if not all) freezing sprays is they contain a lot of alcohol, which dries out your hair. It's nothing to worry about, just be sure to always condition you hair! Also, never try to brush through freezing spray! You'll only damage your hair, just wash it out.
Now I'm not saying cheaper brands are bad or anything (other brands not mentioned such as Tresemme), but there are two things you have to look out for....
Number one: It may make your hair look dull.
Number two: It may make your hair look dried out.
So be careful. lol
I'm not saying you have to use freezing spray because it is the absolute best for every person who reads this, because it may not be. Some of you may be just alright with regular strong hold hairspray, and in that case, congratulations! lol.
