I play guitar but am having trouble,
Two things really.
I want to be a Lead Guitarist but I am a rhythm guitarist. Any good guides or tips to help me become a lead guitarist. Anything will help I can't do solos so I need to start with something easy.

Also I can't tune my guitar I suck at it, I need help tuning it to drop C but when the guides I looka t get all complex to where no one new can understand it.

Other than that i'm pretty good at guitar I can name almost everything about the computer and I am ok at identifying what type they are..

If you want to learn how to be a lead and do solo's just practice one short riff thats quite fast over and over again as it will help you to move your fingers faster and faster which is needed mostly for lead guitar. I cant really recomend any songs to try right now but seriously just practice moving your fingers, it helped me.

Also for tuning your guitar i recommend you buy a tuner as it will make it alot easier and is the best thing i can tell you for tuning. Other ideas are also looking at youtube tuning videos, as you will hopefully get just the right sound (As long as their guitars in tune). And if your having trouble with standard tuning then if your second strings in tune play the second string on the 5th fret and the first string open. If they sound the same the first string will also be in tune, if not keep tuning it until it is (It works for all strings aswel).

(I understand it isnt the best advice, but atleast i've tried.)

learn to make the guitar screech.

Get a THICK pick, and hold it really close to the tip, try playing around the 12th fret, G string to begin with. When you play the note, try to get your thumo to brush over the string after the pick.

It'll take awhile to get it sounding right, but it's great for making easy solos sound better.

hey man wattup,

i been playing for about 5 or 6 years. lucky me. and well i sometimes do have trouble playing faster especialy if its the music you listen to. and by the sounds if you trying to get your guitar into a drop C then the music is definetly screamo or something. ( you dont get many other types hitting those bottom notes) Well man, the first thing is to buy a tuner. but if you try tuning your bottom E to a drop C man the string will be like going all over the place when you play. The guitarists who do use Drop C are usually using 7 string guitars because you cant really hit a drop C on a six string. even though the tabs on the net show they are only 6 strings. I find it annoying when i play bullet for my valentine in drop C. ( i dont have a 7 stringerr) so i just play it in drop D. still sounds ok.

The faster you try to play when your beginning the harder it will be. so i recommend just taking it slower and when u fell comfortable with going faster. Go FASTER!! just keep practicing man andyou speed will increaes. Its the way of the world my friend. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.

I've been playing for about 7 months, but I still can't completely switch barre chords right, Is there an easy way to do it? Or do I just have to deal?
Suggestions?

nope, suck it up and practice like the guitarist you are.
that's the only way you'll get better.

Yeah hi again,

in regards to the easier ways to get bar chords happening. honestly it may seem weird. but i practiced on an acoustic and got it on that first.to be honest guys. with bar chords you ony really do hit the first 4 strings on a bar chord. so just hold down the bottom most string of the chord and use your other fingers. you will gt the same results. but dont make it a habit ok?

Peace out.
