You need to make it painfully clear that emo is a mere template to a style of your own. It's just the background in who you are.

She's concerned that you're going to go kill people or some crazehnezz. Like moms do. Just tell her that she's making a complete bitch of herself by trying to make decisions for you without your vote, (Painting your room for you?!)

Just start getting sappy and tell her that you appreciate her looking out for you, but you have eyes and you know what you're getting into, you still love God, blah-di-blah.

She thinks that you're not "Walking the light of the Lord" because you're not advertising "KNIT BIBLES FOR KIDS IN AFRICA" kind of submissive, preppy church girl who wears skirts and smiles all the friggin' time.

You have darkness from what you go through day after day, and you'd rather vent that than hide it from God and others until it builds and you snap and become a prostitute like the Church Girl from my school did. (It was hillarious. She just grabbed somme kid and started feeling his junk.)

Of course, my mom's a preschool teacher for this church-preschool, so she still didn't let me because my therapist (Called the "Jesus Counselor". I'm not fucking kidding.) said that I was surrounding myself with darkness rather than venting it.

One day, I'll tell them all that I worship Jonny The Homicidal Maniac rather than a God who tells people that the sun shines out of his ass.

god i know its terrible. they had the elders come over and pray over me. it hated it. those people are just not good.

ok ya i dont think that ur mom should push a religion on u its wrong, but have u ever tried to listen to what she was saying, and give the religion a chance

i mean its not like if ur emo u cant be religous.... i a proud christian, and idc if any of u have a problem with it

thats a little creepy... at my church everyone knos me, cause i grew up in that church, and they dont do anything to me... besides the pastor thinks im a good kid, so its all good

ouch that sucks and if i was you and she asked me if i was suicidal i'd say no and then continue about the nail polish. She is probably afraid of "emo's" because she doesn't understand, maybe she thinks that we are ALL suicidal or that ALL of us cut ourselves, which we don't but many people believe that this is true. Try to help her understand and let her know that you know that she's doing this out of LOVE but also let her know she has taken it TOO FAR!! you have my permission to copy and paste this print it out and show it to her. i had the same problem but i did this and now she just doesn't let me wear heavy eyeliner to church, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

wow...my mom is crazy, but she's not like this. I'm glad niether of my parents are religous...no they just think I'm a druggie (i'm not)
