moms afraid of emo children?!?!
moms afraid of emo children?!?!
so my mom keeps acting like im the most discussing thing to walk the face of the earth. she also prints out articles of stories of emo kids that didn’t end well off the internet and puts them on my bed for me to read. one time i came home from school and she completely redid my room. she painted the walls pastel green. it's not good. now she’s set up a meeting with our pastor!! how do i get her to stop this craziness????

this should go in the Help and Advice section but anyway...
did you try to talk to her? face to face and explain her you're not doing anything bad??

well, i'm sure your mom only wants the best for you so don't reject her completely, maybe if you're willing to listen to what "the light of the lord" is for her, you could prove her you're not doing the opposite or something like that

People have to stop pushing religion upon people, especially their kid. I find it wrong to push something on someone like this, just so they'll conform to it and be what they want their kids to be.
There is a wise saying;
You live to control your life, not someone elses
I'm not so sure what to say. But for starters, I would suggest a talk, and you should be in control of the entire talk. Ask to not push religion upon, talk about how those stories are stereotypical, bring up the fact every group has it's own stories that are 100% the same, but they only focus on "emo" kids because "emo" kids wear dark colors and enjoy a different type of music and fashion sense.
That's all I can think of for now.

just imagine your son looks like jack from the nightmare before christmas or when you enter in to your sons room it looks like a funeral parlor...
you cant expect a parent to say:"oh hon it looks so nice and warm"

there's always the option of refusing to see the pastor and is she invites him to ur home cos she cant drag you there then just lock yourself in your room.

Maybe when your mom's around you could wear something different to what you usually wear if she has a problem with the way you dress. Don't hide from her, go talk to her about things like school or homework and greet her with a smile... that's the best I can offer you ^^ hope it helps. And also don't complain to her face about things like repainting your room and stuff or else it might convince her that what she's doing is right. But the whole meeting the pastor thing is waaaay psycho
They know...that we know...they know...we know... o.O

i am fortunate enough to have an appreciative mum who will get me emo clothes for my birthday etc. and not care as long as i am happy so i have never been in a situation like that.
but the only thing i can say is don't go into a rage etc. cause that will only increase her thoughts of emos being weird and stuff. do that for a few weeks and when she asks you again say mum in the last few weeks have i done anything??? then she won't have a come back.

Talk to your mom...she needs to open her mind a little bit and understand that just because those other kids did those things doesn't mean you are going to do the same, I mean she did raise you a certain way right?...so she should trust you more...just sit her down and talk to her...thats what I'd do.

Hate to be a Mr. Agrees-a-lot Here but year talk to her.. At least she's not like my mom..She doesn't let me date or go hang out with friends cause they're emo. If I manage to though she always yells at me and stuff and judges them and says they're nothing but a bunch of wrist slitters or something like that. *fake strangles the air*
