A MIDNIGHT OPERA

As the final string was strummed, the crowd roared with delight. Ville Valo took a bow as fan girls screamed “I WANT TO HAVE YOU’RE BABIES VILLE VALO!”

He waved and blew kisses as he walked off stage. The rest of his band followed. As Ville sat down and lit a cigarette, Mikko Paananen came toward him.

“Ville, great show tonight.” He said, opening a beer.

“Yea, hopefully the fans did not notice when you stumbled on your music.” Ville said.

Mikko looked over at him.

“I did not stumble on my music. And even if I did, why would they care?”

“Fans notice everything, they would notice if I had my shoe untied.” Ville said taking a puff of his cigarette.

“I still don’t see you’re point here Ville, anyways it is not important, and we have another show tomorrow night. We will see plenty of them again tomorrow.” Mikko said getting up.

“Alright, I guess.” Ville said throwing his head back on the couch.

Mikko left backstage and headed to the bus. Ville sighed and got up. All the sudden a fan girl group came up to him.

“Oh…my…God! It’s Ville Valo! I LOVE YOU!!!!!” The first fan girl said

Ville smiled. “Hello there, do you want me to sign something for you?”

The fan girl almost fainted. “Would you?”

Ville took out a pen. “Do you have something to sign?”
The girl took out a HIM C.D. from her purse and held it out.

“Can you make it out to Sara please?” She asked quietly

Ville signed the C.D. “Sure, hope to see you again Sara” He said as he hugged her.

Sara fainted. The four other girls hugged Ville and dragged Sara back out to the main hall.

“Sweet girls.” Ville said walking to the bus.

He kicked small stones on the ground and blew out smoky air. His eyes could barely stay open as he got into the bus. He walked over to the couch and crashed.

The sun awoke him the next morning, he look out the window of the bus and saw the trees fly by faster then light.

He sat up and stretched.

“All right guys, get up, we are going to arrive in Berlin any time now” Ville said throwing a pillow on Mika Karppinen.

Janne Puurtinen sat up from his odd position in the corner of the bus and yawned. “What the Hell time is it, I felt like I slept maybe two hours last night.”

“You did, I think we all did, some how I never get much sleep after a big concert like last night, argh.” Ville said opening a window.

The wind blew in leaving a chilling sensation throughout the bus.

“Wow, kind of cold out today.” Mikko Lindstörm said taking off his shirt.
“Yea, I noticed.” Ville said tossing him a new one.
Mikko Lindstörm looked over at Ville, he was looking out the window staring at the sky.
“Something wrong Ville?” He said pulling the shirt over his head.
Ville sighed. “No, nothing important at least. Just…well never mind.” He said glancing at Mikko.
Mikko looked at him worriedly. “Alright mate, if you want to talk about it I’m open you know that.”
“Thanks…” Ville said

The bus continued down the long stretch of road. Trees, clouds, and water passed by. Ville took out a notebook and began to write.

“Hey what are you writing there Ville?” Janne asked sitting next to him.
“It’s nothing, just a song I guess.” Ville said scratching words onto the page.
Janne looked over Ville’s shoulder. “The Kiss of Dawn eh? Well, it looks really good so far.”
Ville looked up. “Well thank you.”
“Anytime.” Janne got up and went over to Mikko Lindstörm.
Ville looked back down at his notebook. He sang quietly; “Blinded I am. And so are you. By shedding tears, Confusion that separates us two, we hold dear.”
He sat up and lit a cigarette. Then he blew out a puff of thick, white, smoke, sighed, and laid back down.
