Looking for the sun on a cloudy day, Running to daddy for help when there's no other way. Crying late at night for no apparent reason, Hoping it's just a symptom of the season. Waiting for someone to light a fire, Underneath all this pent up desire. Hating the fear that controls me, Lacking the strength to defy the insanity. I'm just another teenage girl with a little more insight, And they all tremble in their shoes as they watch me with eyes full of fright. When the cold winds blow I'll be a hand for the weak to hold, an ear to hear wisdom and stories of the old.
