Makeup & Hair advice!

by xXNiKXx on 12-21-2007 12:48 am

I'm looking for a way to give my hair some volume. It's thin, curly, and has a mind of its own. Do you have any suggestions?

Much Thanks,

well its hard to say...but i would try a simple volumizing moose, or even volumizing shampoo...but if you go with the shampoo, make sure you use a curl tamer cream for when you get out of the shower....that way your isnt all SHAZAM!lol. also blow dry your hair upwards....that kinda sounds weird but when you blow dry your hair scrunch it up Smile

Okay, so I've always wondered how to get the thick eyeliner look. I've only just started using liquid eyeliner and I'm having problems getting the look I want.
I don't want the eyeliner to be too thick, but kind of like this picture:

And just like in the picture, my bottom lashes are extremely long. So what's and easier way to get around them? Instead of having the liquid eyeliner clump up?

And also. I love the smokey look around the eyes. I'm guessing you just use regular pencil eyeliner? Once again, I would like it to look like the pictures below. Could you explain how to do that?

*sorry it wont quote....*

That sounds super cool =), but with your hair....between the two options i would go to a salon...even just to by the hair bleach....the stuff they sell at drugstores are pretty bad on your hair ....if you use it or change your hair up alot, salon bleach doesnt damage your hair as much Smile, but salon is the more expensive thing to do....if its to expensive get a blonding kit rather then hair bleach...it does the same thing *lighting your hair* but doesnt damage it as much....

and for your eyebrows....just get an eyebrow tint they can last up to 6 months...and there not that expensive...usually hair/nail places do it for pretty cheap...and i think you can get a home tinting kit, me personally i would never trust myself with dye around my eyes >.< lol but it's pretty simple
=)

Anwsers :

Question 1: "oil of olay" pencil liner...its not that expiensive and kinda hard to find....but BELIEVE me is it ever worth it...it's professional quality and shows up really nice on the skin and just as well and dark as liquid

Question 2:

pantene hair straightner (it's a product) works great ...straightens while you blow dry.

Well I dont have a better brand....but i have something that is WAY! better....it's called "grapeseed oil" it's a really big secret in the makeup business ....but i dont see why everyone can't know...
you can buy it at a heathfood store and all you need is like a dab on a cotton ball and it takes it right off + it conditions your skin and makes it feel all soft and what not
trust me it's the better way to go....Its what I use, and I do extreme makeup

Ok, so I'm black, and I have a nice texture hair. Its soft, and its about 1 or 2 inches past my shoulders. It doesn't stick straight up in the air, like those ghetto girl's hair does. Oh god no. Do you know anything that I could do with it?
I feel at home. I'm just not normal.

to cyanidecrayonz:

with the smoky eye look, you need to buy either black eyeshadow, or black cream shadow. you can find both at a drugstore, or in a department store, anywhere really.
first you need to apply the eyeliner, i'd recommend trying it thinner on the top and thicker on the bottom, but not horribly thick. then take the cream shadow or eyeshadow and rub it on your lids. you can also take a q-tip and rub it along your bottom lid to make the eyeliner on your bottom lid a little more smudged looking.

to emomunchkin:

that happens to me a lot too. i've found that blinking and rubbing/touching your eyes in any way messes up your makeup. when you're buying eyeliner you could look for eyeliner that advertises itself as 'staying liner' or something like that, although i'm not sure how well those work. the best thing to do would be to touch up throughout the day, i.e., get a pass to the bathroom during class and do your makeup there. personally i carry a little travel bag with some eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow in my purse, but if you don't have one you could probably fit a makeup bag into your backpack.

to kiwikun:

one of my guy friends, eli, is half-black and he has hair like yours. i think what he does is straighten and texturize it, it actually looks really good.
here's a picture of him:

i'd suggest coniditioning your hair and straightening it on a daily basis. you should buy a good straightener (i recommend a chi iron personally, even though they are expensive they work WONDERS) and see how you like your hair really straight. use a texturizing product (i think eli uses something by l'oreal) and see how you like it.
