Low carb is an awesome weightloss plan you lose a lot of weight quickly but you have to be active walking every day for it to work well.
a couple of things i have learned while taking my journey are:

only eat when you are hungry and don't eat a lot either, eat a little bit then if you are still hungry eat a bit more, a little bit of food goes a long way especially while on a low carb diet.

don't eat 3 hours before bed (my personal pref)

don't drink a lot of soda (took me awhile to realize that they make you stop losing weight)

your weightloss depends on your exercise and how much energy you put forth if you are not dying by the end of your workout (45 minutes maximum) then you didn't work hard enough.

that's all i can think of.

doing sports to fit into a smaller size is stupid. It's just a fucking number, it means nothing.

Well, technically, it has to do with appearance as well >.>

I went to the doctor one day and he said cutting back calories is the best way. Not dramaticaly though. The human body is suppose to consume 2000-2500 calories a day, so instead you consume perhaps 1800 calories. This is what I have been doing and I lost 20 pounds. It dosen't work fast, but it is healthier. It may seem like a dramatic change at first because most people overeat daily. Their higher metabolism can burn the calories so they don't gain weight, but those with a lower metabolism will gain. If you wanted to lose weight faster you could cut back even more. I experimented one week and consumed about 1000 cal. a day and lost 10 pounds. It was very difficult and I don't advise it. Your body can go into starvation mode and store the fat everytime you eat and you end up gaining more then you were before with that tactic also. The way I lose pounds dosen't even require exercise! If you do exercise you will lose faster and it will still be healthy, but I'm too lazy so I don't really do that. This is what I do. You can try it. I bet it will work Very Happy

Need to lose some weight, too. Or well, not weight (I don't care too much about numbers and rarely weigh myself), but more lose volume. Fat preferably (I don't have enough muscles as it is).
So, I need to lose volume on my thighs, exchange the volume on my body with muscle volume and built up the muscles of my back and shoulders. Health reasons.
Plan: less sweets, and different ones: small and/or with cacao over 60%. Less lemonades, I really have to be more careful there. Companies are tricksing, they write water with plants and fruits on it, but it's still got lots of sugar. So I'm back to some actual water with lemon taste (gotta be careful there, too, but I found a brand that actually puts no sugar in) and more tea (I feel cold all the time anyway).
I'll try to get some routine workout done. I'm not yet sure how, though. Can't do it inthe morning, not enough time and too tired. I have no fixed wortktimes, so I can't do it at a certaintime in the evening. I won't go out, for once because it's dark early, and on the other hand I'm really tired after work and want to get into more comfortable clothes. So I thought, I'd do a little workour from Tuesday to Friday after I turn my laptop on in the evening (because I might use DVDs for it and own no DVD player).
Other than that I might ask my doctor to increase my thyroid hormons. Not only because of the weight of course. I might be within the average/normal level, but I think I still show symptoms (fatigue, feeling cold).

Question: I guess I shouldn't be doing the same thing every day. Do you have suggestions for little workouts at home that I should alternate between? One of the things I will do is strengthening shoulder and back muscles with a SwingStick. What other things should I do?

tl:dr: only read the question part

Are you looking for simply building muscle or losing weight, L?

I'm looking for losing volume in certain places (thighs, belly) and for building up muscle to support my spine - the latter not because of the look, but because I have problems with my back and shoulders.

Cardio for weight loss and good mornings for back muscles.
Granted, cardio won't do much if you don't watch your calorie intake.
Six small meals a day > three big meals. It keeps your metabolism going through the whole day.
Drink lots of water.

It stops before they show what it is... Confused

6 meals will be hard to do though. I always go to lunch with the colleagues. I tend to rather have less than 3 meals than more... And with each break at work, I have to stay longer in the afternoon. Hm.

Mhmmm.
And try to get muscle, it helps burn the extra calories when you're doing nothing but resting.

Skip rope is actually a great cardio workout.

And what I do for muscle is push ups, then sit ups (full body, not just crunches), then lift my legs up and do crunches, then do the ab bicycle, then the Brazilian Butt workout for my glutes/thighs.

My mum and I are trying to get in shape for a cruise in April. We're doing 15 minutes of Ab exercises each night. My mum said that doing any sort of working out will make my "love handles" go away.

What do you all suggest? On love handles that is.
