Here in the little island of Singapore , emo is deemed as cool by younger kids.Whereas in older society , it is deemed as antisocial or being a loser. How's thing in your state?Give me your comments guys.

I do think in western countrys emo is a total different thing, also because western emos difine themself mostly with their own style, in Asia it's different thing their are limited ways to look emo..

people think i'm this weird fucked up girl that takes too much drugs and cuts herself. So they call me emo to shorten it up. Bands like Fall Out Boy who were NEVER emo took that label to attract 13 year old girls that don't kno what the fuck they are talking about. Emo is becoming bigger and at the same time losing it's true meaning. 80% of the so called emokids don't even kno that it started in the 80s and only a few listen to music that is truely "emo".
Poser bands:
Dashboard Confessionals
Panic at the Disco
Fall Out Boy
Paramore
My Chemical Romance (they are rock/alternative with an emo look but their music isn't emo)
and many more

thats not completely true, Panic! at the disco has been very popular around here they where already the poser band they still are, only nobody heard about emo here Wink however, on the other hand now does everybody thinks he/she is emo around here and Panic! at the disco is completely out..

I live in a small-town in the US and here emo is really resented; but I have noticed younger kids seem to have a less negative view of it.

idk people kind of spit on it here, and its a tiny mountain town i had to move to, and there are like, 5 emo kids in a whole 3 hour radius. and there kind of teeny bopping posers...i hate what emo has become. no one even knows who captn jazz is. or sunny day real estate. or THE GET-UP KIDS. are u kidding me? and i dont think its bad to be emo and like bands like my chemical romance or w/e, but DONT CALL IT EMO. it isnt...and honestly, personal opinion i guess, but they suck. and the lyrics of some of these bands! hawthorne heights is SO annoying. "cut my wrists and black my eyes" ?!?!!? ok, this is just promoting stereotypes and...im just speechless with pissed off-edness on that one. hey, i like what i like. i love mae and anberlin. but they arent real emo. i mean a FEW songs are, but those are in earlier albums. anyway, just because a band has "sad" lyrics doesnt mean its emo. just like skinny jeans and eyeliner do not make one emo. because emo isnt even a style of dress! that is SCENE! but noooooo does anyone know what that means? of course not. so now, if u like panic at the disco and wear clothes from f-ing hot topic or w/e, youre emo. arggg. but i dont even care anyway. let them "fit in". i dont like labels. they feel like a set of rules to me. and ill b who i want, thank you.

message me if you need anything. any of you. love you all.

i dreamed of a walrus
eating little kids
and then i felt guilty
for what that walrus did
so now i stay awake all night
because if i should go to sleep
that walrus might just get fed up
and then try to eat me.
