Two things really.

1. about being the lead guitarist: i think you should learn scaling first then after that you wont be confused on doing riffs (like which one goes first or is this the right fret or does this sound right) it helped me make my own riff if thats what you wanna do =)
2. tuning your guitar: buy a tuner perhaps? Very Happy

so don't assume or else you'll regret.

I play guitar. I'm good in some area's, bad in others. I write a lot. Not lyrics though usually, I will most likely improvise those on the spot. Guitar is better used as something that is manipulated rather than learned. More things come out of it if you truly have the passion.

I would have consensual gay sex with Brian Wilson in a totally non gay way.

Well, to that person that was asking about easy bar chords. All bar chords are pretty much based on E and A. So it's not that hard to begin with. It's easier to play one chord and slid it down the neck then move your fingers more then that's nessessary. There's no way to make it more easy as Sophie said.

I'm mostly going to play guitar as something to write songs with, because I'm more of a singer. I'm going to be a rhythm guitarist. And I'm a beginner so I might use this thread a lot Mr. Green

I had to do that when I was at a blues jam. We were doing the tune of Ball and Chain by Janis Joplin and I only knew the first two lines so I just sung, "Sitting down by my window baby, looking out at the rain" and I sung "Why? Ooooh Daddy!"

barre is basically the easiest. because you dont re-arrange your fingers like regular chords, and your only using one finger, unlike power chords. so maybe just practice. I was taught for normal chords, to play it, lift your fingers off the strings, then lay them down again, and keep doing it until you can hit the chord right. as for doing the actual barre, use your first finger, but i guess that's kind of a given thing haha.
