Shaking torment
My breath can’t take every word that spits out
Like fire flickering through this dark tunnel
I cannot wait this long, it seeps through me
My grasps fail every time I try.
“Have you not tried enough?” you call out from behind me
A distant voice only I can recognize
I hang my head in shame as I reply no..
You’re always right.
…why can’t I be like you?

You’ll grab my arm as I stumble towards
What seemed to be a spiral of blood-spewed stairs.
You’ll lift me to your golden hill; the sun praises your every step
No shadow will linger, for they are afraid you will see them
And banish them forever in a righteous swing
So they hide in my temptations.

And for that I cry; my bitter tears will see no end.
