There are two types of spikes that I know of.
Wet spikes, the ones that look sticky and stiff.

And
Dry Spikes, general poofy-ness with some shape.

Wet Spikes are more popular amongst boys or short haircuts.
Just out of the shower tutorial.
Wet spikes:
towel dry your hair and apply Got2B: Glued* into THE BACK your hair. Kind of mess it up and tease it a little.
Dry hair with hair dryer on a low, warm setting to harden the spikes. Hairspray if you're overly cautious.**
Dry spikes:
This'll take a little longer.
Towel dry you hair and hair dry, straighten*** your hair as usual. Apply Got2B: Styltini into the back of you hair and mess it up. Dry it with a hair dryer (or the natural way if you're not in a hurry) and brush the mousse out a little, then do the generic Teasing Hair with hairspray and such. It gets a thousand times poofy-er.**
*(I got mine at the Dollar Store and it IS the best you can get for a low cost. O__O)
**(My hair won't stay completely spiked in Humid, hot, SUNNY, 120 degree, *blarg dies* weather.)
***(Trust me. Straigthening the back of your hair WILL matter when you spike it.)

It cost me around 5 bucks but it's a huge yellow can. It'll last a while. If you're looking for something that'll make your hair stand on end, use this.
