id like to dress emo at school, but we have 2 wear uniforms

any suggestions on how to look emo at school without breaking the rules?

dont strive to dress emo, strive to dress how u feel.

i recomend dark eyeliner, teased hair, chucks, combat boots. if u have a really strict dress code try to accessorize emo. hottopic has sum adorable necklaces and earrings w/ skulls and guns and shit. u can rly wear just about anything and give it an emo twist. hope i helped <3

Please avoid combat boots and chucks. They both hurt your feet due to either HEAVINESS or lack of padding(coughchuckscough).

I'd like to recommend some vans slip-ons. And if you have an Urban Outfitters there's a really sweet slip-on like style they sell there, in a cool grey. The brand name escapes me though..

Grrr my school has a really strict uniform

Pleated tartan skirt, white shirt, green tie, knee high white socks, black leather lace up shoes

I've been told off so many times for wearing Chucks and saying I'm against wearing leather

My friend wore a white bandana and got detention once

My other friend wore black socks and got detention, and she's always getting told off for wearing too much eyeliner

I hate uniformity. Friggin sucks.

Chucks don't hurt my feet. The worst side effect are that they make your feet cold in winter.

and also they should let you wear black socks if you choose i mean its not like it will kill them. rawr uniforms piss me off and i dont even go to a school that wears them...

There is a reason for them though. Apart from the fact that it makes the school look good when there are visitors, it's also there to help distinguish between students and people sneaking onto the campus. Apart from that it's also an attempt to decrease bullying and cliques forming - of course, that one always fails. People group no matter what.

I'm pretty lucky uniform wise: black skirt/trousers; jumper/cardigan/hoodie; shoes, white shirt and a black & red striped tie. Got to love it. ^_^



If you want to look 'emo' for school, then take a look at the list of uniform rules - taking in information meant for both genders. Look at these, and then work around it. I wouldn't suggest going overboard with it though. Less really is more when it comes to customizing.

Hair is always good
Make up (IF YOU WANT)
Wear Undershirts also

That's a pretty strict uniform. We do have uniform at my school, but they're pretty lax with it. I wear black Converse instead of school shoes and have badges on my tie and jumper. I take a jacket to wear over my school jumper and sometimes I wear black jeans instead of trousers if I'm going out after school.

My school has uniform, and are pretty tight on it, but if you are sneaky you can find a way around it.

Girls HAVE to wear either the school dress, shorts and a polo top or pants and a polo top in summer. The pants and shorts have to be navy blue, and are meant to be from the school uniform. I went and bought skinny leg navy pants, I get away with it. Under shirts always work. We ahve this huge like jacket thing, I sometimes wear another jacket underneath it, and only zip it up a bit, looks rad and an easy way to bring emo into the school, but only works in winter, too hot other wise.

If your school is strict on make up, you can sometimes get away with just foundation, and a tiny bit of eye liner, but apart from that nothing.

But by all means, go crazy with your hair, if they tell you its too outrageous, say 'Its my hair I'll do what I want' thats what I do!
