Crap. I wrote like, thiiiiiis much and then it all just disappeared.
So this is a little shorter version of what I wrote, sorry for that.
First, there are two kinds of 'materials';
Synthetic hair and Human hair.
Synthetic hair is made out of plastic. Which means you cannot style it, straighten it and do other things with heat, because then it will melt. There are some synthetic hair that you can stand heat, though.
It's cheap, but it often looks like shit after about a week.
Though, good synthetic hair is often better than cheap human hair.
When it comes to human hair, there are two different kinds; 'regular' human hair and remy/remi hair.
'Regular' human hair is hair from hair brushes and similar. The roots are mixed (some are up and some are down) and that makes it tangling. To get rid of that, the hair is treatened with acid and later with silicon to make it smooth again.
Remy/remi hair is hair from just one person. The roots are not mixed, so there's no need for acid treatment. This is the best human hair you can get, and I strongly reccoment it if you're going to have your extensions for a longer time.
Now, the hair comes in different shapes and with different things to attach it with. The most common things are:
Wefts, which is hair on a string, like a curtain. It's the easiest and most common way of extensions. You attach it with clips, microrings, glue, tape or by sweing it into the hair.
Pre-bonded hair is thin locks of hair that has keratin glue at the top. You use it with microrings or glue.
another kind of pre-bonded hair is
nail hair, where the glue is already on the hair so there's just to use a tool similar to a flat iron to melt it into your own hair.
I hope this helped!
