Okay so today my humanities teacher announced to the class that he will be leaving at the end of the year. There was not a dry eye in the room because in the 2 years he's been at my school, he's become the most loved teacher to ever grace the school.
I'm organising a parting gift for him and everybody in my class is going to get some cash together.
so far we'll be getting the following:
-a framed class portrait
-a material gift (possibly a watch, but i need some suggestions here)
-any left over cash will be given to him to help him with raising his son. (we'll have a few $100 left over, since the students in my class will be chipping in $20-50 on average, and a few have offered $100)

A class picture is a great idea.
Or maybe take him out to dinner, or everyone chips in for him to take his kid to show or out for a day in the big city near you.
