^^ Actually that's objective. From one angle, if it's going to be done (which I'm not condoning) a fresh razor is more likely to do less damage and allow a cleaner wound and healing period. But again, cutting is not something that should go unchecked.

Sharper edge (normally)= less tissue damage= less scarring and faster healing. But you still shouldn't self harm.

tip:
using foundation reduces the irritaion after a week or two after the cut..ive noticed this and it helps. it also helps take away its noticability and how red it looks.

I don't know if this has been said before, but if you have a cut which is still bleeding occasionally after a couple of days, go and get stitches. I have a friend who after three years still has a very raised and noticeable scar, she says she regrets not getting medical attention every single day.

or an alternative to stitches is using spray on plaster which heals much quicker that way, only works for small cuts/slashes. or skin closures if it's too deep for the spray plaster.
skin closures are like stick on flexible stitches.
i don't cut but i tried the above 2,for similar kinds of wounds. (ie: razor sharp knives slipping when cutting up meat/salad).
both options will stop it bleeding, unless it's very deep.
