Desiderata

Desiderata

by rockitemokid on 11-05-2009 1:05 am

My step dad left a paper with the poem Desiderata out on his desk, and I found it.
I read it, and believe it to be the embodiment of what I am, or strive to be:
Spoiler:

Have you ever found a poem, song, or anything otherwise that you felt was like you, or what you like to be?

All hawthorn heights, dashboard confessional and MCR songs feel like they're coming from inside my soul

I am me.

I explore myself and mold to my innermost being by living.

Alive

I don't need the creation of someone else to truly express myself.

Motivation comes from within, not from prose.

Pretty lame poem.

Whenever I find something to help me find who I strive to be, I just get Courage Wolf.

OH I KNOW THAT POEM !

It's one of the most influential poems i have read in my whole life, I think it actually was the first poem i ever read. I can definitely say it's one of those scripts, that are not scripts, but real poetry, something that is more than a though , something more than words, something that at by any means, becomes large than life itself. Without loosing the main picture.

Songs that i can say kind of touched me in someway are " I Hope You Dance" By LeeAnn Womack & "Anyways" by Martina McBride, the words on those song inspire to be yourself, don't be afraid to try something , even if you fail , do it anyway. I felt they were kind of who i were, and what i was striving to be.

If i remember more songs i will say their names.

IN VAIN by D'espairsRay, for who i am on the inside Mad
...especially the "ego" parts ^^ ;
Spoiler:
love and hate myself. They're perfect senses
love and hate myself. An overflowing avarice

Although it is not perfect... I smile, all dried up
I envy your perfection. Just let me be, no dirty tricks

Nobody can fill my ego.
Nobody can violate me.
Nobody can do my style.
Therefore... I say...

in numbness
scattering the rose seeds the pleasure of an ego that rises to the moon
hey, in your cradle rocking a pretty prostitute

love and hate myself. They're anger senses
love and hate myself. An overflowing idea

Although it is not perfect... I smile, all dried up
I envy your honesty. Don't look at my face!

Nobody can fill my ego.
Nobody can violate me.
Nobody can do my style.
Therefore... so...

night
you and I melt together a deed of perfection that glides over the moon
hey, in the cradle of your mouth soaked my only prostitute

I will dominate your fucker ass with sex.
Sex might be the only thing that
I can dominate with.
what the fuck, fuck it, just fuck 'em all !!
just don't fuck with me. mother fuckers die

in numbness
scattering the rose seeds the pleasure of an ego that rises to the moon
hey, in your cradle rocking a pretty prostitute

night
Foreteller of the moon, lead me by your guidance.
if not, sleep in silence.
