My teachers always personally refused to teach evolution. So I've never learned it.
I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired.

. . . . Thats fucked up.

I was taught both evolution and creation, from my first year of school. I was given a choice to believe what I chose to believe. And I gotta say, it seems everyone who was taught both properly, believes in evolution.

I think, maybe, people should go out and learn about evolution, to fill the gaps in their education, and to have a chance to choose for themselves what they believe.

At my school, the teachers aren't really aloud to teach anything about religion. It's so stupid because they only teach us the beliefs of a couple of related religions and try to stay away from Christianity. It's kind of difficult to put in words how they "teach" us the few religion related topics that they do.

I like that, because Christianity isnt the only religion. Religion is really something that a family chooses for their child, but i think even that is unfair, since you still don't have the information that you need to make an informed decision.... gettin off topic here...

Don't the majority of religions teach creation? But look at when these religions began to teach this, it was before people had a good understanding of the world around them. When they believes that a child came from a 'mans seed', and the woman was nothing more than a place for it to grow.

Why does creationism and evolution have to be mutually exclusive? The Bible says WHY we were created. Not HOW. Darwins theory of evolution says HOW but not WHY.
I firmly believe that God created the world and that He started the evolution. Smile

I agree with all of this except the very last part.

That's one of the best arguments I've seen yet. The problem is the timeline. Most people who believe in creation also believe that the earth is less than 10,000 years old.

Eisenstein didn't believe in the big bang.
While above us glowing, exploding, our dreams burst forth in light in death.
Hold me and tell me, "We'll burn like stars. We'll burn as we fall. Watch as the city lights DANCE FOR US!"

Isn't that like... proven wrong? When ones beliefs contradicts proven facts one has to take some time to revalue ones beliefs. Is it really THAT important how old the earth is? I mean, compare it to that Christ gave his life for us.
Also the bible wasn't written as a science book. It is highly metaphorical so that the jews at the time could understand what the hell they were reading. Think about it. With the Big Bang theory it's nothing first and then something explodes. In the bible there was darkness until God created light. Explosions usually emitts light. In further reading, Adam means man and Eve means life. To make something of anothers rib wasn't a physical thing. It was a jewish simile for something that is connected. Man and life is pretty connected, don't you think?
Galileo Galilei said "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use." and I live by these words.

I believe in Creation. I'm Christian. My school teaches evolution. Doesn't bother me.
I wish I had blue lipstick and freak scabs all over my body with random hairs poking out of my forehead. I wish I could be like that.
