RE: Conservatives Protest Kindergarten Obama Song
I think it's stupid. They're kindergarten kids, they don't know anything about politics except what people tell them, even then they don't fully understand it. I don't think teachers should have kids rooting for something they don't know about. The kids are basically puppets to teachers, and parents.

No one should have views thrusted and forced on them, especially when you're at such a young impressionable age where whatever the grown up says, goes.
I bet the parents that voted against Barrack aren't to pleased.
It's like forcing religion on little kids at young aged, they grow up with and make the choice about it when they are old enough to understand better.

its so dumb. reminds me of how the schoolchildren were taught to sing for Stalin in the days of communism
not bringing this up becaues of the big "obama is a commie!" argument, but because it actually happened wth Stalin and it feels freakishly similar

I really don't like this
I feel the same about it as I feel about children being forced into a religion as children, before they have the knowledge and information to make an informed decision

What pisses me off is that this got more coverage than the Gay-Protest at DC.
Um? their are millions of Gay-protests, i think people are just getting used to the fact that Gays are treated badly (and we all understand your gay) ...
Anywho back to the actual topic, I think that there is a lot more amzaing things that African Americans have done in the past then sign a bill for equal payment... like destroying segregation or demanding Civil Rights. Obama is the number one whore of the media, i've never seen another president's name in a radio song or as action-figure. I Think it was wrong for having innocent children singing a song about things that they have no fucking clue about. It was stupid for the teacher to change lyrics for a song, didnt you think she/he knew that there would me hundreds of parents pissed off?
..I hope that retired teacher ends up greating people at Wall-Mart.

So?
I think people are getting used to the fact that people like/dislike Obama.
If you've really NEVER heard another President in a song/action figure, then you're probably living under a rock.
Probably one that lowers your IQ.

I don't like it.
Like some other people said: they don't know anything about politics yet, don't shove it on them.
Another thing.
That song was a religious hymn and I don't believe any hymn from whatever religion it may be should be changed to fit a political leader's name over the religious figure that was stated in that song.
So yeah, it bothers me.

All it is is replacing a fictional character with a real person, don't see the big whoop.

Well the religious figure may be a fictional character to you but to many people out there it's a higher power in which they believe in and live by, whether it be a spiritual being or a person that was once living.

If it's omnibenevolent then I doubt that it would mind switching it's name in a song.
