The girls don't choose to undergo this mutilation as it is mostly forced upon them. I can't see how any sane person would choose to undergo something as painful and dangerous as female genital cutting.

It's mostly done in Africa and Asia, in places where sterile equipment is sometimes considered a luxury. The procedure is always filled with excruciating pain, bleeding and instant medical complications. Problems during menstruation, urinal infections, pain during intercourse and problems when giving birth are common problems caused by female genital cutting.

If anyone would actually choose to go through with something like this whilst knowing what consequences could potentially await them, it think it would most likely be because of extremely strong religious beliefs born through indoctrination(which is the main reason for this phenomena in Africa; religious beliefs, that is).

The motive very much depends on the location. For example, in Somalia it is seen as a surgically important procedure because through the "ritual" the girl becomes spiritually clean which grants her the right requirements to become a good Muslim and a "real woman". It is also seen as something aesthetically pleasing, much like most women think that circumcised penises look better than non-circumcised ones.

In some places it is done to dampen the female sexuality; in some as an initiation ritual for girls to become women; in some places it's mostly due to religious reasons.

In my earlier post I said that it is mostly forced upon them. The keyword in that sentence is, of course, mostly: there are teenage girls who choose to do it with or without the permission of their parents.

I have a faint memory of someone in this thread saying that female genital cutting usually happens when the girl is seven years old. True as it may be, this is not always the case. In some cases it's done when the child is a few months old; in some when the girl is getting married; in some after the first birth.

There are also different forms of female genital cutting.

Uncircumcised and happier because of it. I'd rather keep all of my nerves, thank you. Sure I'd be able to last longer, but guess what - I'd be more tired by the time the orgasm and ejaculation hit, and therefore I would fall asleep immediately. Therefore, no chance of any "Playing Around" afterwards just for the woman's sake. Less pleasure all around. Besides, circumcised penises don't have NEARLY as impressive of an orgasm effect. Sure, those of you out there without a foreskin and glad because of it don't have anything to compare to... But guess what. You would most likely be happier if you had the choice.

Plus, I believe that it's absolutely disgusting to have an exposed glans at all times. We're built this way for a reason, don't go changing it on me.

If you want to do something sensible, why not get a birth defect or two together and start a new race which has extreme difficulty having sex? It wouldn't really be that difficult, it would just take time. Besides, circumcision is almost always done without consent of the child. Might as well do it the less painful way. Since most extreme religious idiots already screw their people out of a happy life, they may as well enforce some new reproduction rules.

well, sometimes its a religious issue. but to me female circumstion is jst gross and wrong. i dont really know how guys feel about it but all of my guy friends who are jewish or have had a bris (curcumsission) dont mind and are actually proud of it.

but an uncircmsised male is at a higher risk of getting a yeast infection if at any point having to take an antibiotic, or anything else that can cause one than a circumsised male. And that i do know for a fact because i had an uncircumsised ex(his was because of that whole hispanic cultures not believing in it kinda thing, he didnt like not having it done) and he had to take the same antibiotic as my cousin did(who is circumsised) and my ex got a yeast infection but my cousin didnt. I in all honesty dont care whether hes circumsised or not, yeah it feels better for me if hes circumsised because the head is what his the gspots but it feels better for him if hes not-but hell it was his moms choice not his, he couldnt say "hell nah momma they aint clipping my shit" because its when they r first born

I don't know how much of a right to an opinion I have over male circumcision but I think that should be their choice, not mine.

As for female circumcision, I don't think I'd want that.

If either of the procedures were to be conducted I'd say that some kind of anesthetic should be used in addition to clean operating utensils.

I think circumcising females is very very wrong.

and I also think that doing it to your child when they are still
very young, other than for health reasons is very wrong.

I think it should be the choice of the person when they are older
if they want to be.

Circumcision for males is not a big deal really, the only difference I can think of is there would be a lesser chance of getting a minor infection.

Female circumcision, is just plain...no.

i think its wrong for both. sometimes its personal choice and sometimes its not. if your parents decide to do it to you when ur a baby thats not ur fault or choice.
