circumcision

So if you weren't cirumcised when you were a baby, would you have wanted to do it today? I mean, at this age?

KittensKill wrote: That's religion for you.

No, not really. If you had two kids and one would maim the other for your sake, would you be happy? I don't think so. Neither do I think that God appriciates circumcision.
Yet another radical statement from your dear friend and philanthropist Venny.

I believe it's mutilation. I do not GIVE a damn if it 'looks better' or stupid shit like that. It's unnecessary, nor is routine infant circumcision even recommended by any major medical body.

As for it reducing the risk of STD's, so does a condom. If you're being exposed anyway, you should be wearing a condom. No need to slice off parts of a man.

It severs nerve, desensitizes his penis, and exposes the very delicate glans penis to foreign textures such as underwear. It is not meant to be removed, it does not hinder sex, and it only takes five extra seconds in the shower to clean. There is no reason to circumcise other than medical reasons (foreskin won't retract/too tight, over-sensitive, etc).

I would never circumcise any son of mine. If he wants it done, he can have it done when he's eighteen and able to make that decision for himself.

Female circumcision was brought about not for religious reasons but to control. She is cut with non-sterile instruments (sometimes just using a rock or glass!!), sewn up to preserve her virginity, and kept that way, sometimes even re-sewn if her husband is going to be leaving for a while. A number of women develop infections and die.

I firmly believe that female circumcision is a larger problem not because it is performed on women, but for it's circumstances.

Condoms protect against pregnencies, not STD's. Only way to be sure you won't get and STD is by having safe sex.

I find it a waste, unless it's for your religion. though i sure as hell woudn't wanna be sewn up for being a certain religion.

When people talk about "safe sex" they are referring to the act of having sex with a condom. When it comes to protecting yourself from STDs, condoms are second only to abstinence. If you are unlucky you can still derive an STD even though you used a condom, but that is extremely rare.

Just wondering... Why are you glad that you had your foreskin removed?

Religious reasons. And because I think 'cock sheaths' are gross. It just looks better.

Hey that's my friend you're talking about!

I pretty much have the same opinion as you do, though. Just completely opposite.

I've heard that it's harder to masturbate when you're circumcised?

I didn't word that very well, sorry. I meant that you should figure out if the person you're having sex with has an STD, or if you have an STD.

I think the female circumsicion is way worse then the guy one, but that is because I am a girl and if that happened to me.....*shudder*

I notice that most of the people who think its ok for guys to be circumsized are girls, this is because like me they can't imagine having a penis with or without forskin, if you understand what I mean.

Now my personal opinion.
Well the only surgery I will ever get done to my future babies(if I can be bothered popping them out) is I will get the membrane under their tongue cut, only because I am serverly tongue tied and mine wasn't cut as a baby, so I can not poke my tongue out further then my teeth and silly stuborn mother wouldn't get mine cut even though I struggled to feed because I could not make the proper sucking movement with my tongue. So yeah, thats the only thing I will let them cut of my baby apart from the ambilical cord, or tumours if the thing has one.

Yeah. That is my opinion.
"You push it, stretch it, it'll never be enough. You kick at it, beat it, it'll never cover any of us. From the moment we enter crying to the moment we leave dying, it will just cover your face as you wail and cry and scream."

I'd rather take Ethan EXAKUTION than Ethan Hawke to my formal.

Chyess! Another human being, finally!
I was like that too. But a couple years ago, my dentist told me that my wisdom teeth were impacted, and weren't going to grow in because my mouth was too small for them. RIGHT after I got them removed, as I was still under the effects of the anesthetic, they asked if I'd like to have that membrane under my tounge snipped off, so I just went along with it (partly because I was sooo incredibly tired due to that anesthetic, and could barely walk straight for the first 15 minutes or so after the surgery). It's actually proven to help my singing abilities, so that's a plus. =] But the negative is that I can no longer whistle. =/

Anyway, back on topic (sorry, I was just happy to finally see another person with my former problem)

I completely agree with you, Strawberry Switchblade. Couldn't have said it any better.

Strawberry, you're fucking brilliant.

I read something in Seventeen magazine about female genital mutilation, and i thought it was just horrible. I cant belive people do those kinds of things to themselves.
what happened to "respecting your body"? Its a form of cutting, to me, and self mutilation isnt smart.
