Our state (California) was only on the marriage issue and there was even an announcement today that the only thing it does is ban that, as marriage is now in our state Constitution as between a Man and a woman, we have the attitude that we don't care about what you do so long as marriage remains what we have now made it into our Constitution one and for all.

Massachusetts has been a leader in change in the past. Massachusetts was the first state to abolish slavery.

I hoped that since Massachusetts allowed gay marriage that other democratic states would follow right along. But it seems that isn't so. Which disapoints me

They do have the same rights. People need to stop complaining about "oh we don't have the same rights", when clearly, you do not have to drink from a different fountain, use a different bathroom, sit at the back of the bus, and other things that are actually "not equal".

The only thing is that you cannot marry, you may however, have a "civil union"
