Best album of 2008?

by xhardcore on 11-24-2008 8:00 pm

in your opinion, what was the best album released in 2008?

in my opinion, the best album released in 2008 was rotation made by cute is what we aim for.
why?
every song was unique and had the potential to be a number one hit.
they used different sounds for their songs &+ their lyrics were alot better than their last album.
they showed a huge improvement.

alright, that's my opinion of the best album of 2008.
so what's yours?

Damn, I was going to make one of these threads when it came closer to the end of the year. Oh well.

I have a list of like a dozen or so albums from this year that I absolutely love, but I think the hands-down most awesome record to be released this year is:

Hmm, yeah I liked Rotation.
More so than the previous album, actually. I think CIWWAF is improving, both lyrically and musically.

I liked "Fast Times At Barrington Heights" by The Academy Is...
Some would say that it's vastly different than their older material, but I don't mind when bands do that, as long as they stay within the realm of being themselves, and yet explore their overall sound further.

Best album of 2008? I haven't heard enough albums that were released this year, in order to make an objective statement.

The Glass Passenger- Jack's Mannequin
it really showed how Andrew McMahon's music has evolved since his Something Corporate days. of course, maybe I'm a tad biased Wink

I found Rotation boring. The songs were less catchy, less fun, and less memorable than CIWWAF's previous album.

What about "Doctor" and "Practice Makes Perfect"?

Pretty catchy, in my opinion.

"Time" was a nice touch, for a final song. I liked the ambience in the beginning.
